So I am debating rebuilding my old one versus the switcher and adapter. I will probably end up getting a switcher and then rebuilding the old one when i have time. Has anyone really taken a close look at both and if so who sells the best one and why.
Thanks,
Dave

Buy from Bob - he's the best and you can do it all via email. Which means you do not have to CALL a phone # off Arcadeshop's website and talk to his b*tchy wife who thinks she's doing YOU a favor by selling to you.

I do love me some Bob Roberts, but I really like the kit from Arcadeshop. I'm sure both are be excellant products, but I like the way the AS has a factory style look. But Bobs, could be used with any switching ps where the AS may not if the included ps ever goes out. And I think the AS is a few bucks cheaper.

actually, tammy isn't that bad the times i've talked to her. but i usually get steve when i call...

My issue with Arcade Shop is that they only ship UPS and its slow and expensive. With Bob the item is cross-shipped and there in 2 days for about half the shipping cost.

Not to hijack your thread, I am also considering rebuilding my original power supply. Do you know of a replacement parts list for the original power supply? I have the schematics for it, but unsure of now-a-day equivalent components (mostly the diodes)

Either can be used with just about any switching ps.

Depends on the day, when you talk to her.

This is very true, and sometimes the decision maker for me.

Bob Roberts has a kit for it, you do not need a list.

Bob's always been such an asset to this hobby and such a nice guy with overly-reasonable prices and shipping matters that I'll always choose him over many competitors, and even in those few cases where a competitor may have something a little better it still doesn't make me switch because his stuff is still quality and I like to give him support for all he's done for the collecting community. Just MHO.

Never had a problem with either Bob or Steven(or his wife for that matter). We have had a Bob Roberts adapter/switcher in our Galaga for 7 or 8 years without issue. Now saying that, if I had to buy another one I'd buy the Arcade Shop one just because it looks a bit more polished.

I don't think you'll go wrong with either.

OK,I have a question..Does anyone have a picture of exactly where the 2, 115 AC wires go?This is a dumb question, but when I bought my power supply from arcadeshop,it came with no instructions, and just want to be %1000 sure it is hooked up right as Ive asked this question and gotten varying answers..thank you..
