4 games... wow... Steve already admitted in an email to me that he has 9 games ready to go. I'm not even going to bother with these 4... why? I mean when the dude releases the other 5 in what, 6 months... I'll lose my high scores (most of them).

Nice job Steve... I'm sure all your customers are really thrilled you released 4 hacks...

None of those games are worth bumping other games off the board.

I'm glad/surprised he is continuing to support the board since the appearance of the bootleg version.

Why does this stuff even bother me anymore? ...I keep getting set up for these "updates" he teases us with ("stay tuned: we'll be updating SOON!") and filled with a glimmer of hope only to find that he "updates" us with the same 4 mediocre F-ing games that were just released HORIZONTALLY in an already-too-many-games-to-fit vertical capacity.

Now we'll probably have to wait another 8-12 months for some other weird, obscure, unreleased game nobody likes (like "Gridlee").

With all the hacker geniuses out there that can modify consoles, handhelds, and cellphones I have to wonder why someone hasn't anyone taken a crack at this board yet. ...Way beyond my abilities but I wish someone would so we can get something real happening on it.

Well... he did tell me he has 9 games total... that leaves 5 more... but I also heard a rumor (not from Steve) that all 9 games ars VS games...

What really sucks is this "release" does jack-shit for me. Why? Because there isn't a single new game worthy of removing any of the games I already have on the board let alone the hassle of losing high scores, etc.

WTF... seriously... why bother if you're going to release garbage? ANYONE here waiting with bated breath for hacked VS titles to run on a vertical monitor? ANYONE? Raise your hand...

A year since last vertical release and we get this? Oh... and when you consider the ultra sublime PAC N PAL was the last release... well... I'll leave it at that.

PS: Steve told me that it is CLAY who makes the decisions on what games go on this board... (but then again CLAY told me it was STEVE who did that about a year and half ago). All I can say FOR SURE is that whoever makes the decision has their head shoved so far up their ass they don't know if it's night or day outside.

Lame games!!! Why Bother!!

I loves me some Frizzledfried bad attitude. Let the hate flow Frizz, the darkside is your master now.
Man you poor people got hosed buying this piece of shit.

It's the "Grumpy Fucker" coming out of me... it's been taking over lately. The abstinence of the ganj is slowly turning me in to a person I sort of don't like. Sadly...

So ArcadeShop boards are more expensive but I heard they don't have the audio problems other boards have (ie Gyruss). That's the main reason I was going to buy one with my tax return. But if the board is limited in the amount of games it can hold, I guess it's technically "programmable" but not "expandable".

Now the debate comes... do I settle for poor audio but can multi two cabs for the price of one; or buy one expensive board but rotate out games.

The reason the don't have a problem with audio in Gyruss is that it doesn't SUPPORT Gyruss...

Nor does it support 1942...

Nor does it support Super Cobra...

...all games with audio issues on the Chinese boards.

That said, the games it DOES support are better emulated... MOST save high scores properly with initials... and, well, there is always the promise of new games (this is the stickler for me).

The board itself is great... yes, there are limits on how many games it can hold (after all, the tech on the board is more than a few years old by now) but functionally it's just fine. As Friz points out it's just the failed promises of support and updates that pisses everyone off. If he did as he promises, I feel that the price is worth it (still). Menus and emulation surpass the chinese boards IMHO. I just want him (or someone else if he can't handle the task) to expand what is supported. I don't care about having to change and rotate games every now and again if capacity is reached, but it would be nice to choose between better games than he already has (Gridlee? Pac & Pal? ...Christ). At the very least he should have a poll up on the site to have owners vote on proposed games or something.

I'm personally still waiting for improved Multi-Williams support... It makes sense that between the vertical support already surpassing capacity, and the fact that if he's going to screw with making horizontal games play on vertical and vice versa, shouldn't you focus for awhile on adding more horizontal? Wouldn't it be cool to have Joust 2 on the multi-williams menu? Or Inferno? Or Blaster? (okay, pseudo-3D/polygons may not fly on this board) Even Smash TV? C'mon... Those are no-brainers the way I look at it since he specifically markets this as a "multi-williams".

Whatever. I'll keep waiting in spite of all the bitching. Not like we have much choice on the matter. :-/

Arcade Shop Programable Board

I've been interested in buying it for awhile maily for DK II, but the limited number of games just didn't seem worth it. At one point, I had actually emailed him and suggested that I would be interested in funding the expansion of the games supported but he never replied. If you ask me he seems to be missing out on more sales if he would just listen to his what his current and future customers want.

+1 on that!!!

For the price of one of those boards and the limited game options, etc ..... I'd just assume build a MAME PC. (my opinion of course)
