Arcade Shop PS Switcher Elevator Action No Instructions

I Just received my Elevator Action PS Switcher from Arcade Shop and it came with no instructions. Where do the two wires get installed that came with the kit?

Thanks for your help,
John

I did some more research and they said to splice the wires to the white and black or black and black wires coming from the monitor. They said if you connected it to the outlet in the bottom of the game it would stay running.

Can anyone please confirm this?

Maybe I'm missing something here, but your monitor shouldn't connect to a DC power supply. It needs AC and I'm thinking you mean a ISO transformer?!?!

Those 2 wires should be for the AC feed for the power supply. I suppose hooking it into the monitor AC lines would work, but you should be able to connect it to where the stock power supply got it's AC. Post a pic of your setup and we can get this figured out. - Barry

Yep. That outlet is a service outlet. It is hotwired to the AC, bypassing the power switch. If the game is plugged in, that outlet will always be live. Tapping into the monitor cord is fine, you can tap into the AC anywhere after the switch and line fuse really. The monitor wires are probably the most accessible. Did they give you line taps?

Thanks and yes the wires have the spices at the end of them.

Pretty strait-forward then. Tap into them and you should be set. Doesn't matter which wire to which wire, just make sure you tap one to one and one to the other. Give yourself enough slack to be able to strap the wire down with the rest of the harness if you can. Looks cleaner and there is less chance of accidentally ripping the wires out if you need to go into that cab again for servicing.

Elevator Action Screen

Just installed my new switcher and the white screen is gone. I now have a picture but can't see the screen to play. I have attached a couple of pictures of the monitor. Could this be a PCB issue or monitor issue. The monitor seems to have color though.

Sorry, I mis-read your post. At first I thought you were trying to wire the monitor to the switcher.

I removed the board and saw this. I guess this could be one of the problems or could also be the monitor. Not sure at this point.

The monitor looks like it is functioning OK. It seems that some of the graphics are not being output by ther PCB. Was the board working OK before the power supply died? My guess is a fault on the game PCB. I can't make out what you think the problem is in your PCB photo. Is therr something damaged?

i don't think I see red.. sure the monitor's red gun is working?

I picked up the game not working. There is a burned area near the R31, R32 resistors on the board.

For starters make sure none of the PCB traces are burned through and replace any burned up resistors, etc. Check the schematics specifications to make sure you are replacing the burnt components with the right parts. PROK may have a good point. If the red color gun is out that may explain why you are missing part of the graphics. Do you have a spare good monitor you could plug the game up to? I have a spre 13 inch monitor I use for diagnosing such things.
