arcade shop overlays

I just got a Marble Madness CPO from arcade shop, it arrived fast but i noticed some small differences from the original. I'd post pics but i already removed and trashed the old one.

The only one I have looked at from AS is Millipede, but it is not very accurate. I have heard good things about them though, so some of them must be good.

I have an Asteroids Deluxe overlay from AS. It has been on my machine for a few years, and there is already cracking on the front corners. So probably not as durable as nos, but better than nothing.

well i want to replace mine eventually to make it minty fresh. but will keep it original til someone gets the original films for repro or until rich at this old game gets it done!

I replaced the CPO on my Asteroids UR with one from AS. I used the partial one and I haven't had any problems with it at all and I'm really pleased with it.

I have to say, they may not be 100% accurate but they are way better than having a ripped POS overlay. :) And "accurate" is definitely a relative term since there were soo many variations on graphics BITD.

I buy artwork and high score kits from Steven the most out of anybody and haven't ever been disappointed.

I bought the asteroids full wrap overlay

Looks like top quality, I haven't fitted it yet.

I would of preferred they didn't punch the holes, in case they are out a little.

Secondly, if it matters, white vinyl is used with black ink.
As opposed to white ink with black vinyl.

I am mostly happy

I just bought 2 different CPO from AS including the Asteroids full wrap overlay! I think it is great! I could tell it was a litttle thinner than the other one that came on my cab(the origional was painted on I think). I will say that even though overlay seemed a tad thin but it did not affect me since I prepped the control panel real good beforehand. It is just the white might show though. What I did was scrape with a razorblade all of the old overlay and glue and then when over it with a disc sander stripping all the glue but not all of the paint completely so it at least had a little protection. I turned the control on its side so when I put the overlay on it was straight. I put some buttons though the overlay with the backing on it to test its accuracy of the holes. Not perfect but also not noiceable once you push the buttons on the control panel. IT LOOKS AWESOME.

Now my second overlay I got was for my Pac Man. It looks like something from TwoBits. It is accurate and great with the artwork part, but the yellow for the pac man's on it is too light. The origional and the rest of my cabinet has them with a little more orange tint to the yellow guys. The blue and red and black look great. I am hesitating putting it on for this reason. I doubt any one else who sees my cab would notice the difference though.

I purchased the Space Duel overlay from AS, printing quality is good, but the pre-cut holes for the buttons did not match exactly. Not far off, but not perfect. I still haven't installed it - my original is not too bad.

I also bought a Missile Command overlay which fit great, but is already starting to crack at the bend (after about 3-4 years).
