Arcade Restoration Video
Carried over from the Technical Help Forum
- Originally had two transformers and fuses hooked up to a power supply and Jamma Board
Non working unit
- Removed transformers and fuses, powered directly from Power. Works perfectly and much lighter for cabinet build.
- RGB to VGA Encoder by JROk for Video Enhancment and Audio RCA Cable hotwired to speaker cables on Jamma Connector.
- New Controls from the Real Bob Roberts arrived last week, now hooked up
- Solved the Ground problem by cannibalizing wires from the Player 2 control, squishing them all together on our spare ground, and split it off in 8 different directions for Player 2. Attack, Jump, Up, Down, Left, Right, Player start.
Now the only thing that remains is a cabinet build.
I'll be a 4 sided box about waist height with a control panel. An opening in the back so boards can be switched. Video will be hooked direct to TV, so no need for speakers or video monitor. The entire thing will be light weight and easily liftable for great portability.
That's the plan, at any rate. I've never built anything close to this 'complexity' before, so we'll see how well it turns out.
In the front of the control panel, I'm going to try and fit a marquee. I will probably eventually order a coin door as well for authenticity/nostalgic purposes.
