Arcade Restoration Workshop / Party in So Cal

Will definitely be there (w/ 2¢) - is there anything we should bring?

The way it's been lately, maybe an umbrella. :)

I was planning on doing some of the demos under my patio cover, and I had pulled a couple of games out and put them there. But this morning I woke up and the rain was light enough and the wind strong enough that it was blowing the rain onto the bottom parts of the games (YIPES!!!!!). Don't worry, they're fine. I put them away and dried them off.

So now I have to figure out how I can do some demos and still leave the garage un-packed enough to play some games (right now I have enough games that they can't be arranged in the garage in such a way to allow access to all of them).

Cap kit is easy, we can do that in the house. Same thing with wiring harness building. But I may have to substitute something else for bondo work, depending on whether it's raining or not. I'll think of something.

I won't be able to make it this weekend, but I live in Pasadena & wanted to say "howdy" & I hope your event goes well. I hope I can attend a future one.

Thanks,
-Jason

I think I've got the rain situation worked out. Should have 3 or 4 things to demo and enough space to play most of the games. Paperboy & Ms Pac probably won't be in play, but the rest of the working games should be good to go.

Hey John,

Just wanted to say thanks again for hosting the shin-dig at your pad! It was great to meet you. I'm already putting to use some of the things you demonstrated. And as you said, the game room did not suck!

Okay, I need to follow up with some reference information I mentioned on Saturday.

The guy in Orange County who sells the nice no-burn used monitors for $75 is Bruce Chang. Here's the KLOV post describing that:

http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=130039

The monitor repair place I like to use (for when a cap kit or swapping out the HOT or flyback isn't good enough) is P&L Games. Here's their information:

P&L Video Games
14828 Ramona Boulevard
Baldwin Park, CA 91706
626-337-9782

You can find cap maps for all of the most common monitor chassis on Bob Roberts' index
page:

http://www.therealbobroberts.net/

Seach for Cap Maps and you'll see a list there. For example, we worked on a G07 on
Saturday, so the cap map is here:

Let me know if I forgot any other things I mentioned but haven't provided details here.
