I am looking for a couple of books on how to restore and repair arcades and pinball machines.
I am not having much luck could somebody make some recommendations and tell me where to order them from. I need them because I was burned by an arcade retailer in St.louis on a machine I bought and I am not going to let that happen again.

randyfromm.com, best dvd's and repair books for novice collectors, IMO. His DVD's I think are outstanding, get his introduction to arcade repair DVD first.

Purchasing books is fine, but obtaining knowledge yourself with a little searching on the internet is free. Not to mention posting a thread here and most of the very knowledgeable people that visit these forums would help you out.

Randy's Technical Department

If you're serious about fixing arcade electronics, go to Randy Fromm's site and sign up for his "technical department". Once signed up, you will have access to most (all?) of his instructional DVD content, and his books.

Best money I've spent in the hobby.

Some of the stuff you'll find is available "elsewhere" on the internet, a lot of it isn't. Who else offers a course on X-Y monitor repair?

After watching his lessons on linear power supplies, I not only fixed mine, but understood exactly how it worked.

I don't work for Randy, heck I don't even know him. But his stuff is that good.
