Arcade Repair Day - Northern VA (June 11th?)

So???? Stats man!!! How many boards repaired? What games? Who did all the work? Best fix? Best fix after drinking a 6 pack? Tools used, pictures?

Good to see some community going on -- my area seems full of flippers who view me as a competitor -- no fun around here, that's for sure!

Lets see... stats:
Star Wars fixed
G07 fixed
Matsushita fixed
K7000 recapped/refly'd
NBA Jam TE fixed
BK470 tested, needs rebuild/repair
Determined cracked tube on weird Zenith monitor

I think that's everything, but I may be forgetting something.

We were all running around working on stuff, pointing things out, testing stuff. It was a good time, but as usual, I didn't get any pics. I never think about that kinda stuff... and oddly, I don't think anyone was drinking any beers.

Thanks again Dog! You got my NBA Jam TE board working. Everyone who showed up was really helpful (except for Grantman...jk...not really).
The big question is... how did your cap kit go? Did everything work when you got it home, and did the new fly fix the focus problem?

Thanks again to Pat and Lonnie for hosting the repair day!

You should thank me for introducing you to this wonderful world of KLOV. You jerk.
As always, I'm glad to host... though these things tend to run themselves, which is great. :)

BTW, thanks for the NW Pinball Show poster... that's really awesome. I'm working on a place to display that, and the TG posters from enjoyvelvet... I'll get pics up when they're on the wall!

That's a good day's work! - Man, I wish I could fix that many problems in one day. I can do the work, but it takes me quite a bit longer because I only get about 1 free day every 2 weeks. It's like I have to review how to do things before I can get going again. Just like today, where I had hoped to get some things fixed, but by the time I tracked down the schematics and datasheets, dug out my equipment, parts, cleaned out an area to work in, got set up, etc. etc. the day is over! Now I have to go to bed so that I can work for another week before I can really get into anything again. I hate that cycle, but it's what I'm stuck with for the foreseeable future.

Congrats on finding the time and energy to sponser an event like this. It gives me hope that someday I'll be as proficient and productive as you are.

The cap kit worked out great. No arching sounds and the picture looks good. Thanks again!
