After the last arcade party a few people have expressed interest in having a full day arcade repair day. A tentative date is June 11th... would anyone be interested in this, and are there any objections to that date? I assume Memorial Day weekend is probably out, and Crabtowne is the 4th, so the 11th seems good. IMO, Saturdays are usually better than Sundays for this kinda thing.

The plan is similar to the previous repair days... bring stuff and we can try to repair, troubleshoot, etc. The difference is that rather than having to cut it off early to run the regular arcade party, the focus of the day will be fixing stuff. Hopefully this means there will be more time to work on the stuff, and more time to teach, rather than just rushing through trying to get as much working as possible.

It'd probably start sometime around 11AM, and we'd just order pizza or something for lunch.

Anyone interested? There's not really much advance notice needed, but I'm just looking for a yes/no for the calendar. I guess maybe the questions are:

1) Interested in game repair day in NoVA: (y/n)
If yes:
a) June 11th is a good day for game repair day: (y/n)
b) This date would be better: __________

I would be up for it. The wife is expecting our second kid so I cant commit 100% until very close to the actual date. Same thing for crabtowne.

Thanks for the advanced notice :)

I have two monitors that would be great to troubleshoot. One is G07 that is getting no HV and another is a Matsushita that won't sync.

Also, how about a non-working Shinobi boardset?

Yes and yes!

Wow i live only 20 - 30 min from manasses and would love to sign up! Also wouldnt mind contributing to food/beverages seeing how my repair knowledge is basically non existant! I just picked up an nba jam with a k700 that will not adjust horizontally, width coil is almost completely backed out...... And would love to learn how to fix this :) please let me know !

My wife has a wedding to attend that day but if I can get someone to watch my two little guys when I may stop by for a little bit. I may bring my damn space invaders machine that I someone f'ed up...I put on a new power cord and now I get no image. Monitor fires up and power supply checks out. I'm sure it would be an easy one for you if you're willing to give it a shot.

Alright... thanks for the feedback. It sounds like that day isn't bad for anyone, so I'll plan on having the repair day on the 11th, and if nobody shows up, then I'll just go about my day like normal. ;)

I've also got a B&K 470 that's untested too :) Plenty of things to learn off of!

Let us know what to bring, I can bring food/drinks.

Bring whatever you guys want to work on... if you can, just post or message me what you're planning on bringing so I can try to have the right equipment/documentation/etc sitting around ready to use. You're welcome to bring entire cabinets as well... we'll be in the garage again, so there's plenty of room.

Two things on this... to make the picture narrower, you want the slug to be down inside the coil... backing it out makes it wider. If you can't get it to the right size from adjusting the width coil, you'll want to change out the width cap ( http://www.therealbobroberts.net/width.html ). I have some of those caps, but have used several... you're welcome to one if I have the right one for you, or if you order one of those sets, I can help you install the right one for sure.

I planned on just ordering a few pizzas, but if you guys want to bring food/drinks, that's cool too. There's nothing formal about this... I just plan to open the garage door and hang out fixing stuff all day.

I'm planning on bringing my Star Wars that plays blind. The 6100 monitor needs troubleshooting (already has an LV2000). Thanks!

sounds great bud! I cant wait! Quick question, Have you ever worked on hanterex polo that is pretty much bled with red? Almost as if the red knob has been jacked up all the way.. Ive tried every adjustment on the kneckboard / sat board and no change..... Figured i might slap him on the truck as well :)

Oh, I didn't realize Jimmy was coming. ;)

Yeah, definitely bring it. I personally hate Hantarex monitors, but looking at one that mostly works shouldn't be too bad. I'd guess there's a problem w/ one of the drive transistors, but we can check it out when you bring it.

Yep...looks like I am:)

Thanks for fixing my width problem (among other things) at the last outing! Looks like someone else has NBA Jam trouble too! Now that the width is fixed the top part of the screen is all scrambled, any ideas?

Just the top is messed up, but the rest of the image is fine? I'd try adjusting the H Hold (maybe labeled H Freq) pot, which may shift the image, so you may also need to adjust the H Pos pot. Also, make sure that the composite sync from the JAMMA harness only goes to the H Sync pin on the video connector, not jumpered between H Sync and V Sync.

Thanks!! Yes, only the top was messed up. I tried those adjustments and it helped a little. Then I decided to take off the remote board to replace it, got lazy, put it back on and everything cleared up...I guess I just needed to reseat the remote board...:D

Can you work on Battlezone Stuff??? I have an HUO Battlezone completely dead.....
I don't have a BZ here, but if you bring the cab, I could definitely help out w/ it. If nothing else, I could tell you what parts are bad, but most likely I could help make at least some progress on it.
