what are your arcade related pet peeves? I thought I whould post mine. I had a recent party last weekend for the football playoffs and I can't stand when people put beers or food on top of my arcade games even when I have signs posted all over my gameroom not to do it?

I hate people who put gum on games. Other than that I'm not too bad. I have no problem with people putting drinks on top of my games as long as it isn't a slope. If it ain't gonna fall its not a problem.

When your sister inlaw is a lazy bitch and comes to your house and plays your games and leaves them running 3 days straight now 2 games dont work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree. what's funny is most people don't put drinks on my games. I do.

Usually I'm not a whiner on anything when people come over to play. Most people are respectful enough not to put food or drinks directly on my games. The biggest culprit in my gameroom (being that it's in the garage) would be sweatshirts and coats removed and layed on neighboring control panels. Nothing says "I'm such a shitty game that I have blocked you from playing with this crappy jacket on me" than my friend's clothing sprawled over them.

+1 for me on that one. I also don't like when people put their hands on the side of my Pac or Ms Pac...no more hand wear please.

That used to bother me than I started thinking that it is part of the environment. Now I just hope for the best that I restored them to last for another 20 years.

When people almost put their palm through the glass on my Golden Tee. Not necessary to hit the ball far people!

Um, yeah, you really do need to goose it as hard as you can, regardless of outcome. I mean how are you supposed to win if you dont get wild with shit!

Told my buds the same thing. One ripped a fingernail clean off, the other broke a finger on the glass which I found really amazing.

My pet peeve is when a game craps out on me right before a party

I s'pose I'd get pissed if someone kicked a game or beat the snot out of it, but other than that.. they are meant to be played with, not prayed to!

cheers
/Tim

not a peeve, but the first party i had people took the token collection i have (placed on marquees throughout the arcade) and at first i thought they were stolen, but they wound up in all the coin buckets! i won't leave them out again!

I get worried about how "rough" people get with the buttons and joystick. I cringe sometimes when they play.

This bothers me but I only know one adult who does this. I've seen plenty of kids though try and swing from a joystick. I stop that shit quick.

This!!! Nintendo buttons are extra brittle and DK isn't that fast paced, take it easy! Two years ago a kid was hanging from the joystick on one of my games and he hasn't been allowed back in since.

I haven't had anything too bad happen yet... (knocks on wood) But when my cousin's kids were over a month or so ago, they somehow broke one of the joysticks on my Rampage... Luckily it was an easy fix once they left, but I did give them a hard time about it... Kids.

I hate when original power supplies get replaced with switchers rather than rebuilt properly.

I hate when I have to unhack shitty wiring.

1. There is a tilt on my pinball machine for a reason, don't bang it around.
2. I will call DHS if you strike my machine, or leave a mark.
3. If the game isn't turned on when you came over, don't turn it on.
4. When in doubt ask me. Don't bang it, curse at it, or even look at it with mal intent.
5. Never make my machines a 500-4000 dollar drink coaster.
6. If your snot nosed 2 year old child wants to climb on something, take them to the park, or better yet be a parent and tell them no, and follow through.

I can't stand when people sneak shit in and do that at CAX.
