Ok, so You have created the greatest home arcade within 500 miles of anyone You know. You've spent countless hours and untold dollars forging Your childhood vision into the fantastic spectical that it is, and then...

Life Happens...(insert bad life event here).

You've lost your entire arcade, except for...

Only One Game.

You were cleaver. You were determined.

Somehow, someway, You managed to keep the only game You really wanted in the first place.

And that game is?

(Insert Any Pic Of Game Here)

ms pac man is what got me hooked, its the first game that forced me to get the real thing because nothing else was good enough. i figured i would be all set when playstation released namco classics back in 96. of course no speed up hack. eventually i figured i just needed arcade controls, so i built a custom control panel and of course the joystick wasnt the same, and its not the same playing on a TV with a joystick in your lap as it is playing with an original joystick mounted to a couple hundred pounds of wood!!! that was the first one that taught me that sometimes theres nothing like the real thing.

Be interesting to see how many guys say "my multi" or "my mame" cab. Maximizing as many games into one cab as possible makes perfect sense.

Zeke's Peak would be the one I'd keep. Good general appeal, and hard to find again/replace.

I would keep this because I wont find another one.....

This thread is like rubbing hot sauce in my eyes....
I just let go 2 loved games this weekend in Punch Out!! and Tempest. All due to $1,400 worth of medical bills for my 2 kids.
Oh the joys of being a parent. I miss them already.

To play along with the pole I would have to say Donkey Kong. It was the game that got me into this hobby and the first game I restored.

To be realistic though if what you describe actually happen I'm pretty sure I would be out of the hobby and sell or throw every last reminder away. Truthfully that scenario would be a heart breaker. So much so I may never play a game again. I may not have the coolest collection in 500 miles but I think I've got a lot of really cool games. Pretty much impossible at this point to really be satisfied with just one. Or really pick a true favorite.

Robotron... even if it would be easier to replace... whatever bad thing made me lose the rest might make it take too long

been a favorite since my uncle (rip) had one in his living room back in the 80s and he taught me as a youngen

Although I would like to say I would keep either DK or Tempest, the MAME cab would be the one that stays. It was the first one, and would be the last. It is also the only one that gets to live in the house. The others are all out freezing in the garage.

No contest ..

Loved it since BITD - great graphics and artwork, cool (bizarre) theme, tons of fun (single or dual player), and always a challenge. Spent many moons studying flight patterns, perfecting two-finger flapping, programming clone versions, disassembling the ROMs, studying schematics, and absorbing anything else Joust-related.
