What was your favorite food to get back in the day at your favorite arcade?

As kids we use to walk to the local Shakey's Pizza and go up to the bar and order a pitcher of Coke and a large Pepperoni Pizza. Oh, and get a hand full of quarters as well... click logo to find out more about Shakey's from Peter Hirschberg.

I also loved the Zeenie Weenie. Great hot dog, or so it seemed like, eating it in a cool ass arcade called Zeon.

Pretty much the same but with Round Table Pizza. We also would hit up the Red Roof Pizza Hut as they had cocktail Ms. Pac and Galaga... plus they had a quarter operated TV on each table which was cool.

Arcades would have food? Thats cool.

I wish I would have been able to go to a real arcade BITD. Pizza Parlors, Roller Rinks, Mini Golf Courses, Batting Cages, and Dental Offices is where I got to play.

Lame.

We still have Round Table Pizza here too. GREAT Pizza. I have fond memories of playing the cocktail games there. I think I know where I'm going to lunch at...:D

Zeon was huge, lots of games, lots of room, a huge island in the middle that served all kinds of food that you could eat at. It was great. It didn't last long as the video game crash was right around the corner...:(

For me the most visited place was a gym near my high school. It was within walking distance so we would visit at lunch. Can't remember all the games but I know there was a Star Castle and an Armor Attack. I guess that's where I got the itch to own vector games.

And the food....there was a deli right across the street so we could grab a sammich and sode and play for a half hour before heading back to school.

Early 80's in Norwalk, CA. I went to a Shakey's Pizza that had about 10 or so games (Space Shuttle, Ms. Pac-Man). Late 80's in La Mirada, Ca I had Round Table Pizza that had 6 or so games (Turbo) and a couple private pizza places had a few games. Recently the Imo's Pizza down the street (Arnold, MO) just enlarged their -20 seating area into 80+ seats and added a game room expansion with Sega Star Wars Trilogy, California Speed, Simpsons 4P Dedicated, Airline Pilots, Back to the Future pinball and a Sports Arena prizer.

my main arcade was inside a Nathans...so obviously I ate a ton of hot dogs :D and occasionally nachos.

Round Table Pizza FTW. At the Round Table I've been going to in Encinitas since I was too young to remember for over 30 years now, the manager is the same one since I was a little kid. Neat to be recognized and served by the same dude for so long. They had the same VS. Red Tent with RBI and Super Mario until maybe 10 years ago. All the other stuff cycled through somewhat regularly though.

That is way cool!

I agree, people don't stay at good jobs that long any longer, let alone restaurants. A couple months ago, the McDonalds that was the first place my brother ever worked at and the only other business in the complex that has been an original tenant since the late 70s/early 80s had a gas line explode and burned to the ground. That McDonald's is a franchise owned by people that go to my church, my brother and I grew up with their sons. I got the entire scoop from RT manager who was there (and said it burned so hot for over an hour that they did not know if they would get it under control). I think I like stuff like this for the links to my childhood as much as anything.

Pizza was the main food I ate when I went to the arcades BITD. For some reason it was either served at the local arcade or was always the nearest food option.

I guess there was also a togo's near by one arcade I frequented. I probably had pizza hut half the time I went to that arcade and togo's the other half.

Spent a lot of time at Chuck e cheese BITD where I would usually eat pizza but they actually had a really good hot dog I would occasionally get.

I distinctly recall Bullwinkle's being the first place I ever saw or had criss cut fries at. Even though they had a wider menu than say Chuck E cheese I still generally had pizza there as well.

Grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska. And believe it or not we had a Shakey's back in the day (late 70/80's).
Can't remember specifics - but full of games.
Would always beg the folks to go after hockey games.

Few years later Godfather Pizza was the place. Full arcade attached. Remeber Battlezone and Sinistar taking my quarters. Must have ridden 5+ miles on bike to get there.

Pizza parlors count? I used to play games at Chuck E Cheese, Bullwinkles, Round Table, Mountain Mikes, Godfathers, and 49er Pizza in Folsom. Pizza and video games go hand in hand for me. I didn't think those counted as arcades though.

We use to frequent the Fun-N-Pizza in Boardman where we would play games and eat... pizza. I remember they had quite a few cocktail games.
Also, my parents would take us to Chuck E Cheese on Sundays. There we would play games and eat a plate of grease. ;) One time at CEC, I recall having gone through a dollars' worth of quarters in a Defender game in about 45 seconds ..lol.

Pizza without a doubt. The roller rink served it, and there was games at Shakey's and Godfather's which we frequently played games at as well.

I walk into the newer location of Godfather's in Winona, MN and it still smells the same as the old one did back in 1984. Hell they even have one pinball machine in there...
