Are there any classes specifically for PCB repair? I know its a small community of people but I would love to learn how to repair these boards in detail. Now I can do the basic soldering, burning new chips, and repairing traces, but I would love to get into repairs further and diagnose electronic problems with logic probes and other equipment. One of you smart repair guys should start a basics repair class, I would pay and attend.

not a official pay for class like randyfromms but I have a 7 part set of lessons on my website. http://www.arcade-cabinets.com/resources.shtml

I used to (and still sometimes do) teach IT type 5 day classes so I tried to design these lessons much like I would design a real class as hands on as possible to help people learn the actual skills needed.

Thanks Brian, I will check out your videos.

I took a Randy class courtesy of my work (route operator). He does a great job of breaking things down, but he only briefly touches on logic. Randy teaches troubleshooting as a field tech, essentially how to fix things without documentation. I enjoyed the class, but the information is all out there. He doesn't teach CRT's anymore, either.

This is very impressive. thank you for posting the link!!!!

There are some really good repair videos on YouTube in which they walk through an actual repair. I really enjoy the videos and learn by virtual "hands on". Just do some YouTube searches and you should run across them. :)
