Arcade Party (w/ Repair Party): Saturday 6/9/12 - Northern VA

So, I've been trying to figure out when to have my next arcade party... and it looks like times are filling up, and Saturday, June 9 looks to be the winner.

First of all, is there any major conflict on this date (auction, other party, etc)? The date is still a little flexible, but I'd like to get it officially set ASAP, since the date is creeping up!

So, as with the other parties, the normal party starts at 12 noon, and if anyone wants to bring stuff to work on, I'll be hosting a repair party from 9AM to Noon. The repair party is a great time to get help on projects, whether it's monitor or board repairs, learning how to do a cap kit, or even just to hang out and learn, or show off your awesome repair skills.

Everyone is welcome to come... pizza and soda will be provided, and alcohol is welcome, but BYOB.

You can see (slightly out of date) pics and videos of the arcade here: http://www.projectvb.com/arcade/ . I'll try to update them once I get the games rearranged in final form for the party. Recent pick ups are a Street Fighter 2 CE and Multi-Taito, as well as adding Air Trix to the Top Skater cab, and running Area 51/Maximum Force and Area 51 Site 4 in the same cab.

I'm in Manassas Park, VA. Drop me a message if you'd like to make it, and I'll give you my address/contact info.

Very Cool Arcade. I'm only at the beginning stage of collecting. I only have like 12 Machines. Only 7 work. I will eventually get to fixing the rest. But my acquiring of new games gets in the way of fixing the ones I already have.

Bah! Figures... I'm already booked for that weekend with another party and then flying out to Chicago for business.

Crush Lonnie on a high score for me, Pat...

Oh yeah put me down. Possibly +2 if the boys want to come.

Okay... it's official... Saturday June 9 is the day! Good to hear a few of you should be able to make it. I'll send out a PM w/ the address and stuff in the next day or so.

No problem, except Paperboy. :p

Pat, it's looks like I'll be able to make it. If I bring Space Invaders Deluxe board down will you have a setup to test it? The daughter card it tested good, so I know the problem is on the mother board.

Yeah, we can work something on the bench here... the bench supply has all the voltages needed, and other than that, we just need something to take composite video, which I've got plenty around here for that.

Have you tried the Braze kit? That kit is awesome for troubleshooting, and RAM failures are really common, which the Braze test works great for pinpointing. If you don't have one, I'm pretty sure I've got a spare around here that I could mail you, and you could just bring it or mail it back when you're done.

Of course you're welcome to just bring the board and and we can work on it here.

I will be there with two g07s that I rebuilt and are still not 100% functional.

I'll be in Seattle so I'm going to miss this one. For you first timers, this is worth the drive. You will learn a lot, DogP is an extremely generous host and if you need a hand moving a game Buffett is always willing...its a great atmosphere and extremely educational...plus, you get fed and the arcade is amazing!

Count me in! I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it to the repair party part or not even though I'd like to be schooled in crimping as that's what I need to learn how to do better.

Cheers!

Pat, I have the braze kit in my Space Invaders and tried in on the Deluxe Space Invaders board with no luck, nothing comes up at all when booted.
