Hey,

Sorry for the kinda late notice, but I'm having another arcade party on Saturday 5/14. The party will start at noon, and like last time I'm planning on hosting another "repair day" for a few hours in the morning, from 9AM to noon, in case anyone would like to bring stuff to fix.

Everyone is welcome... feel free to bring the wife, kids, friends, etc. I try to keep it kid friendly, but with a large gathering of video game fans, there's bound to be some profanity and conversations that are probably inappropriate for some... so use discretion.

The last party turned out pretty well, but being in August and 93 degrees outside, by the end of the party, the A/C had a hard time keeping up with the heat from the arcade and all the people. Hopefully it'll be more comfortable this time, with it being earlier in the year.

Anyway, drop me a message if you plan on making it, and if you need my address/directions. It's no big deal if you say you'll make it and don't show up... I'd just like a rough count so I know how much pizza and soda to get.

BTW, here's a video I just shot of the current setup:

You have some nice vintage games. I feel like a teenager again when I play those classics.
I,m about 3000 miles away or I would make it. Thanks for the invite though.

When I was up that way for Spring Break, I stopped by DNS's place and he told me you throw a great party. From the looks of your video, I don't see how anyone could have a bad time there! Bravo!

Maybe one day the stars will align and I'll be in Fredericksburg at the same time you are throwing one of these shindigs!

Have Fun!

The timing is going to be tough but I may try to make it again this year. Me and the Mrs. had a blast last time! Plus, it's an excuse to go eat at Tony's Pizza.

Thanks for the compliments guys... I hope the layout works out okay. It's a little bit tighter than last time, but I think it'll work. It should be a good time, and it'll be nice to get together with other locals again.

Also, if anyone plans to bring stuff to repair, let me know... if nobody has anything, I won't bother bringing my test stuff out to the garage.

Bump. I'm still about 50/50 on whether I can make it. I have a ton of yard and house work to do and family coming into town but I'm trying to make it.

I think I can make it and would sure like to see some repairs done. I have a Robotron rom board that could use some resoldering where the ribbon cable is...someone (um me) pulled up a trace and f'd it up.

BUMP for a great host. DogP gave my kids and I a great tour of the arcade the other week. Two things to warn ya of... :) 1) You won't want to leave 2) 99% chance you'll play a game you've never played before. Enjoy!

I should be able to stop by, and hopefully in time for the repair session. I have some monitors that need work, will take a look when I get home and post.

What can we bring?

I would be willing to come but I couldn't be there until 5Pm is that too late? It would be me my wife and 2 young teenage kids. And do you want me to bring anything?

Cool... good to hear a few more will be able to make it... there should be a good turnout.

You're welcome to bring whatever you want... I'm going to set up a testbench in the garage for working on monitors and boards, though obviously there's only a few hours, so if you bring a bunch of weird stuff, odds are pretty good that there won't be enough time to completely troubleshoot. If you let me know what you're planning on bringing, I can try to have what's needed readily available, including manuals, flowcharts, proper connectors, etc. So far I think a couple people are bringing K6100s (color vectors), some K7000s, a few game PCBs, and probably a couple other things.

You're welcome to drop by whenever you'd like... I doubt everyone will be gone by 5PM. No need to bring anything, though the pizza may be gone by 5... or it might just be really cold. ;)

It's starting to look like I'll be able to make it after all. I'm tempted to bring my DK board to see if I can get my D2K kit working right.

Alright, I will definitely be there tomorrow. I will plan to be there for the early game fixing phase and can stay for a couple hours of the gaming/party. I can bring some chips and snack food.

I have a bunch of monitors I could bring. I will bring a sanyo out of a dk cocktail that I am fixing for a friend(i have a cap kit for it but I think it needs a flyback so i will go for your expert opinions and if anyone has an extra kit they can sell me, let me know so i can do it dogp's). I also have 2 g07s that met up with a bad iso transformer and are having issues now so if we have cycles to diagnose what needs to be replaced that would be cool. The third monitor I have that seems to not sync is a relatively new 19k7203, which i unwisely bought off ebay a while ago it might just need a cap kit. If we dont have time to work on my stuff I am fine just watching and helping to work on new things..

I am bored with some of my games so if your going to the party and want to do a trade, assuming it's not too wet to get a game of my basement, pm me(i love that phoenix dns has, hint hint).

Joe, I think i have an extra robotron boardset in case we cant fix your rom board and you need it to make your game whole, let me know if you want me to start digging around my basement.

See you guys tomorrow!
