It's that time again! Time for the second annual Arcade Game Checkout and BBQ in Humble. This year it will be held on Saturday, September 18th from 7pm to ???.

We will be having food, games, music and more. As always, spouses, girlfriends, significant others and kids are all welcome.

Food will include the usual BBQ suspects, chips and other munchies. If you wish to make us all jealous with your specialty grilled delights, the grill will be open.

Drinks available will include soft drinks, water, Margaritas, wine and some beer (I have found beer to be an intensely personal taste, so if you have a favorite, please feel free to bring some along. There are 1000s of beers and the odd are that I won't have YOUR beer).

Please PM for details as I don't care to spread my home address across all the search engines in creation.

The lineup of games will include:
  • Joust
  • Robotron
  • Bubbles
  • Mystic Marathon
  • Robocop
  • The Simpsons
  • Gauntlet DL
  • SmashTV
  • Bubble Bobble
  • Karnov
  • Great 1000 Mile Rally
  • and more, 'cause I know I'm forgetting something. :D

Just PM me and I'll send you the address. Sorry, I'm not trying to be secretive, but the last time I posted my address online, we got so much junk mail it was not funny.

Edit: Hey! Only 100 more posts until it looks like I really don't have a life!!!

Sounds like fun but not sure I can make it. Nice that you are doing this.

See if you can hitch a ride with Mod (if you haven't guessed, he is the 'surprise' guest).

I am probably going to add Sinistar to the lineup. I finished the wiring harness over the weekend and just need to swap the marquee, paint the sides and find a spot for it (that is going to be the tough part....:D).

Wife and I had a great time. Nice meeting some of you Houston-area folks...

Yeah, it was nice to see everyone, wish I could have stayed longer but we had to pick up the kids.
Ken has a great collection, loved playing his Mystic Marathon, very cool game.
Looking forward to next year.

Fun party Ken, thanks for hosting it! The Star Wars pachinko was really cool, I'm sure it would have been a lot of fun if I could figure out how to play it. :)

Thanks everybody. It was great seeing all of you. Glad you had fun.

Oli, don't worry, the Star Wars pachinko ruleset makes the Medieval Madness rules look like an old school bagattelle. The main object is to drop the balls into the two holes dead center just below the screen. That makes the slot machine wheels go. Get the right slot machine combinations and you get a scene from one of the movies. If you get enough balss into the holes during the movie you get to the next round (another scene). Eventually you will get your ass handed to you by Darth Vader (I've never beaten him). Once in a while you get target practice on some Tie fighters.

It's not a pinball machine, but it is addictive.

BTW: While showing KatanaJoe how the Lord of the Rings pachinko plays, I got a fever and the machine went nuts. That's when it really gets fun to play.
