UPDATE: 7/14 will be the date.

I have been meaning to do one of these for a while and have narrowed it down to these two dates in July. I hope people are in town and available for some gaming, repairing and bbq.

I PM'd a few people to take a vote on date preference and plan to have it decided by this weekend. If people want to do repairs you are welcome to bring stuff and I will try to figure out how to cool my 2 car garage. I am not the best at fixing and will let others lead that activity while I focus on the BBQing. I do have most of the tools needed though.

I will have snacks, drinks and KC style ribs so you dont really need to bring anything. Start time will be 12 for repairs and at 3 the arcade goes on and the party starts. I have 10 functional pins and 20 arcade games to play and will try to come up with a top score tournament on a couple of pins and arcades with some prizes.

PM me if you can make it and I will send you my address in Herndon once we settle on a date!

Sounds like fun... I hope to make it. Right now, the 14th is better for me (I'm tentatively out of town part of the week of the 4th for work... dunno if it'll happen, or when I'll be back). But I may be travelling again one of the weeks following as well, so who knows. :p

I updated up top but the date will be 7/14. I am glad a bunch of people can make it!

What pins do you have?
I think everything is in my profile now that I was motivated to update it: http://www.arcade-museum.com/members/member_detail.php?member_id=405257 The pins range from solid state late 70's- 90's Williams. Most of my pins are shopped, waxed and playing great.

I think someone(possibly pinball wizard?) said they need a 4600 tube, well your in luck and can pick it up at the party.

I'm unsure yet if I can make it, hopefully I can since it looks like tons of fun, and yes I need a 4600 tube, it will get my Vanguard going.

PinballWizard, Oddly enough, I believe the 4600 tube I have came out of a Vanguard, so you will be putting it back where it belongs.

I have had a couple of pms from people that are bringing g07 monitors and one that may bring a vector monitor(not sure what type). Please post anything you want to bring to fix so we can pull the correct schematics/flow charts and make a call whether the right people can help you. I am hoping to find a donor tv for a g07 tube swap. I managed to break my desoldering station last weekend so if I dont get mine working we might need someone(buffet, dogP) to bring one or will will be using my backup from radshack.

More updates to follow, I have been busy cleaning pins and fixing games to reduce failures.

so far as planned i will be there with my station and tools.
if something unforeseen changes ill post as early as possible.

i will have most things to fix K7000, 4900, go7 and some parts for sanyo monitors.
but whoever brings a chassis to fix bring the whole tube so it can be tested.
Peace

Yeah, definitely post what you're planning on bringing to repair... I'll try to get there early enough to help out, and bring stuff that that'd be helpful. But I'm not gonna bring my entire room full of parts. :p

haha I may be the first person to bring a pin to a repair party!!....j/k Hopefully EBD wont take me that long to fix once I get the parts;

I might bring my 4900 so the tube can be tested and check the flyback. I can't get a perfectly clear pic...seems slightly out of focus, and now convergence is fucked so I need test patterns.
