Taken the YouTube content down, as maybe folks don't want this out there...Love the Podcast though.

I discovered the Arcade Outsiders Podcast about two years ago. It started when I was in the midst of my first full on restore.

In the beginning, I'd listen to it in passing. But over time the show grew on me, and I started clipping certain parts so I can listen to them for a chuckle whenever I wanted. @Phetishboy has so many funny moments. @jow and his imitations crack me up...all around just a great fun podcast. Then some of the guys mentioned like @WadeLanham and @Buffett are here on KLOV, great content.

I've taken an assortment of these clips over the 100 episodes and compiled them in this YouTube video for ease of listening. Thought I'd share it here. I believe @jimbodeanny did this for the first few episodes?

I chose my favorite moments based on bickering, banter, imitations of others, and certain conversations that fueled nostalgia.

So many questions I still wonder about...does a paperclip have two different parts that are different widths? Is it "template" or "tem-plate?" Is "Lookey Here Now" racist?

Hope you all enjoy this as much as I do. I have no intention of gaining subs from YouTube or anything, just wanted to share these funny moments here in case others wanted to listen for convenience.

Sorry, I don't know what episode came from each clip, I didn't track that. But the order in the video is from earlier to later Podcast episodes.

Give it a listen and have a laugh.

Yes, I did this back in 2016 covering all of the episodes. There were four "best of" episodes that ran roughly 2-3 hours in length, each with a detailed breakdown of what episode each segment came from. The 4th episode is entirely comprised of musical bits the guys did.

At one time, I had shared them publicly on YouTube, but later took them down as requested by John since there's a lot of content he didn't/doesn't want public. Since then, I've only shared them privately. You might want to consider doing the same before posting similar content on YouTube.

Dang. Yes, I took it down. Was just trying to make it convenient for others to listen. I don't understand how someone can say they don't want it "public" when it is a podcast available to the masses.

The downloads you have are great. I suppose I can load those up on a personal device...iPhone for listening?

Yeah, I hear ya, but you gotta respect his wishes regardless.

Fun fact: At one point, John, Phet and JOW were going to record a special intro and outro for all four "best of" shows and add it to their Arcade Outsiders podcast feed. Sadly, it never happened, but while looking through my old messages, I came across our conversation talking about it back in February of 2016.

Anyhow, they're all MP3 files so they'll play on whatever. @thegleek ended up hosting the files and I believe they're still available here: http://www.thegleek.com/media/ARCADEOUTSIDERS-greatest_hits-best_of.zip

If not, I can share them as well to whomever wants them. Just PM me.

Just a far-fetched guess, but I'd say it has something to do with John and the platform they were on or where John's other show ended up moving to. They might have obtained those rights.

I never would've traveled to Grinkers twice without AO. I really miss those times hanging with great friends from this forum.

It might have something to do with some content that could be considered unacceptable to some people by today's standards.

(Which after all, was the reason we all listened.)

I'm late to this thread but I recall a John's Arcade forum thread on this from a year or so after AO ended. The shows on the website were all of a sudden blocked by a subscription wall because of VGO and John was in the thread, working on fixing it. I can't confirm or deny anything, just throwing my own far-fetched guess into the ring :)

Back then, that was the only way I listened to the show so I smartened up and started keeping everything locally.

AO was and still is fucking sweet.
