arcade noob (more of a pin guy) with a new Defender cocktail. 1 Q

Got this Defender cocktail from a KLOV'r I believe. It is in decent shape and working order. A darn hard game, but one of the few arcades I want to own and now do.

So far I have made a replacement "glass" and ordered a cap kit.

There is one issue I am having. General Illumination seems very under powered. I replaced the #44 bulbs, but I take one out and the rest get brighter, put a new one in and they all dim. I have not followed the wires too well, but it seems they go into the transformer. I do plan on replacing them all with LEDs which should lower the power draw, but wondered if there is something someone might suggest I work on to actually resolve the issue.

On the pin side we have the pin bible, but when it comes to arcades I am a severe noob. If you have any links that would be great as well.

TIA

Are you talking about the lights under the control panels, in the coin door, or both? They're not exceptionally bright normally, but you can see them lit up in a darkened room. If the bulbs are really dim, you may check to make sure you have a good return to the transformer, check the fuse for the coin door lights (dirty fuse connector maybe) or maybe even some dirty sockets...

Will check those things. I had picked up some new illuminated buttons for it before I picked it up. Then I found out there is no room under the CP. I figure adding LEDs might make it a bit brighter though.

Thanks for the reply.
