hello, recently my monitor burnt out on my arcade machine. it is a street fighter 2 champion edition, but it used to be a centipede (i know this because there is a burned in centipede image when i turn of the machine, and the guy i bought the machine from told me). how much does it typically cost to replace a monitor? is it an easy process to get the old monitor out and the new one in? thanks!

by the way, the monitor is 19 inches...i don't know what kind of monitor it is, though. im kinda new to the whole arcade scene, but oh, what a scene it is!

more often than not its the monitor chassis thats needs reapir, i would send it to arcade cup, chad is pretty good at those repairs, usallly about 10 dollars is what he sharges

1st off in case you missed it there is a monitor repair section.

Basically there are two options. Either repair the monitor you have/get someone to repair it or replace it with a new one. The issue with getting a new one is that in the past year or two the companies that used to produce monitors stopped doing so. Basically what is still available to buy new is what people bought from those sellers to resell. Prices are of course marked up because there are not a lot available. Personally I think the better option is to fix what you have. To do that the first step is to identify what model of monitor you have. there are often tags or stickers in there that will give you the model or at least a manufacturer name which is a step in the right direction. http://www.therealbobroberts.net/monitor.html
the link is a great resource to ID most of the common monitors. Take a look and see if you find yours. If not then post a pic or two and the folks here will most likely be able to identify it for you. You should probably also give a description of what your monitor is or is not doing. If you can use a multi meter and do some basic soldering it's likely you can get the info you will need to fix your monitor by yourself.

Try the monitor repair section of the forums. You should be able to get the help you need.
