After over a decade of slow progress, our arcade is pretty much complete....
Stumbled onto what I think will eventually be a great deal earlier this week and today I picked up my last game (for now). Sinistar joined our family for $200. He looks very healthy, just some easily touched up scratches. Solid monitor, great marquee, B+ control panel. Has some game play issues that are addressed by wiggling the ribbon cable (see repair thread), and is playable, although Sinistar has a slightly mangled vocabulary right now. Just hoping that the ribbon cable cures all. Kids are digging Sinistar even though he says 'Beware I <scream> live' and 'Run, Live' instead of Run Coward.
So, here is the final breakdown of the Kramarcade.....it is dwarfed by most of the other home arcades on here, but we are proud of it!
*Super Chexx (custom painted players)...joined us in about 1993
*Punch Out came next
*Then a loaner Tempest that will probably never leave
*Then Pinbot joined about 3 years ago
*next was a (gasp) Mame cabinet recycled from a butchered Pacman game
*in September, the problem child (aka Gorf) arrived. He is now fully functional (knocks wood)
and today Sinistar filled that last slot in the basement.
along the way, we also added a kegerator with multiple styles of homebrew, a vintage table top popcorn maker, and wall designs (Pac man, Centipede and Asteroids) from Blik and other locales.
There are still 2 more grails (Dragon's Lair and Bud Tapper) out there for me, but price and basement space will keep them off the immediate radar.
