Well since April 4th my arcade has been locked up in storage. Very difficult not to have my games a few steps away. Even having a few beers isn't quite the same. Luckily we sign tomorrow for the new place. I'm counting the minutes. Not cool to live with the parents for any duration at 40...

However the sacrifice is worth it. The new home for the arcade has a 1700 square foot basement that will be it's new home. There are plans for a 5 keg (5 gallon) chest kegerator and bar. Flat sceens etc. Really looking forward to entertaining in this space known as Dad's Bar-Cade.

I believe I sustained an injury to my leg while moving the CDI Twin Rifle and the Midway Cobra back box. They individually had to weigh close to 500 lbs each. Trying to heal but I know the boss won't let me once the keys in hand. Arcades to the garage until she gives the nod for placement in their new home.

I'll update with pics once established...

I know how you feel. Back in november i moved all the krap from my wifes crafting scrapbooking and library rooms into my arcade, so i could floor-to-ceiling finish out her rooms.

I got the rooms done in january and my arcade is still full of krap that isnt mine lol. So i know how you feel.

looking forward to seeing this, document everything! Oh and Congrats

Sounds like some really good times are coming your way once you get into the new place!! We are just in the process of moving from a tiny little place into a much larger place where we will have all our games in one place. No more storage locker or games here and there! Im pretty excited about it i must say! :)

Keep us posted how it goes and post lots of pictures of your game room! :)

Update -

Well it's May 15th...a lot has happened since March 25th. We had to pack up and move out of the house we sold by April 1st. All of our belongings went into storage. Moved into my parents house for about 18 days.

We always talk about moving back home guys when we're out with our buddies. We'll I did it at 40 and it's not cool...my parents were great they really were but I knew that as long as I was their my games were trapped in storage.

Received the keys to the condo on April 12th and have spent my time painting, installing, lighting, flooring, and have I mentioned - more painting. I feel like the paint roller is permanently fused to my hand.

Nevertheless on the weekend of March 27th I finally move my arcade out of storage. Pretty proud to report that it took up half of the 10' x 30' storage unit. Now is consuming my two car attached garage. They'll be moved down into the future bar-cade this weekend.

I attached a few photo's of the unfinished basement...as I make improvements to this space I'll post additional photo's...

Looks like its going to be worth the wait. Its exciting to see something raw like that, and then someone puts their hard work and vision into it and it transforms....

Keep us updated, and congrats

Time to clear out the garage. No doubt in my mind that I'll have some adjusting to do to these games. The problem is some will not fit through the basement doorway due to it's placement in the floor plan and I'm not willing to damage the condo nor tear the doorway out. So I may have some games up for trade or sale as much as I'll have a hard time parting with.

Twin Rifle (Restored)

Midway Cobra (Restored)

Panzer Attack (will restore first)

Maybe more I'm not sure...

Nevertheless a few photo's of the games in the basement...

I'll update soon as this project builds momentum.

When i was leasing a house.. um.. yeah.. i tore out a doorframe to make games fit lol..

A week before we moved i got all the games out, hammered all thw wood back in, filled cracks and nailholes with caulk, quick coat of paint, tada.

With regards to removing the door. My problem is the boss isn't hearing it this time around...Did that at the last house. Several times...

Perfect time for an update. So I assembled put the CDI Criss Cross Ski, the Williams Major League, the Bally Circus, and the Gottlieb Target Alpha. Just couldn't take it anymore needed something to calm the craving.

They haven't been played in a while. Start up was rough but after 10 games or so most returned to normal. However my frame unit is acting a bit funny on my ski ball. At times it won't shift up from the first to second frame. Checking spring tension, etc. Hope to have some consistency soon. I'm addicted so I'll keep working on it until it's right.

Other games that made it to the basement but need restored...Midway Jokerball, Midway SAMI, Midway Space Invaders, Williams Space Mission, and last but not least United 5 Star Ball Bowler. Plan on integrating my MAME into the bar itself. It'll be custom but I like unique things and been around construction for some time now.

I've started looking into materials for the project and it's going to be expensive to do what I want. So the project may drag on for a while. Probably until the end of next spring with the main work done in the winter months. At the tail end of remodeling the first and second floor of the condo. Refinish of the 14x18 deck is next on the list.

Somewhere in-between I'll begin on the ball bowler restoration. My family has begun to chant "ball bowler"..."ball bowler"...Next the SAMI. I know I need to sell the Twin Rifle, the Midway Cobra Shuffle Alley, and the Panzer Attack. It's hard to take the first step when you have a problem...I'll get there...
