Long shot, but I bet Massachusetts people know what I'm talking about.

It was an arcade in a little strip mall right down the street from the Holyoke Mall. It was actually fairly large. Do you remember it?

Went there once many years ago and played a Galaga `88. Only time I ever got to play it in the wild...

Got this..

The arcade your referring to was called "nickels" I think.. It was in the Kmart plaza right below the Holyoke mall.. It was a last ditch effort for a local op to make some cash with his machines.. He used to own an arcade in the Chicopee mall "Aka Fairfield mall".. When that place closed he opened up (2) of these nickel arcade spots.. One in Holyoke and one in Springfield, at the springfield plaza..

You paid like $5 and played all the games for $.05, old weird games were free.. Lasted a year or 2 and he closed shop.. Funny thing is, the op was the father of a kid who I grew up with.. I never knew his dad owned the arcade! He kept it secret.. Oh well, those were the days.. Had a lead on the warehouse where all the games ended up.. But they were gone by then :(

That's definitely the joint. Thanks for the story! I'd always been curious about that place...
