Going to start working on my home arcade this year. The first thing I need to do is get rid of a few turtles (They will be released not sold). Going to try and go from 58 to 20. My space will be divided into 3 sections. One for turtles, one for the arcade, and one for a work shop/office to work on tokens, games and a new business venture idea. But I need some ideas for a theme and a name. Here are some ideas I have though about.

1. Use a theme from a acrade I remember growing up. The only two I remember are Jungle theme (CEC) and a Submarine theme (Timeout). I don't really like either of those ideas.

2. No theme at all just put the games in there.

3. Water/turtle theme. Put a huge photo of a pond and such. Not to keen on this idea.

4. Space theme. This might be the coolest but I'm not that big on space. But I know it was a big theme back in the day for arcades. Esp for names of arcades.

5. Pirate theme. I do have a interest in the history of pirates (Cira Blackbeard era). But not sure how I would do it and make it look cool. I will have at least one Pirate Treasure game in the arcade.

6. Castle theme. Always wanted to open a arcade called "Castle of Fun"

7. 70's theme. Paint the walls black. Spray paint some glow in the dark or black light paint on the walls and maybe the white carpet (Np carpet is out there now). Also have the big christmas lights and maybe some rope lights as well as black lights.

8. Supermarket theme. Not sure how I would do this and make it cool looking.

9. Haunted House theme. Sounds cool but I can see myself getting board with it.

Games that I have that will be in the arcade when fixed up and working.

UB-QB
Sega Skill Digger Crane
Congo Bongo
LAX Rotary Pusher
Klondike Token/quarter pusher
Crystal Castles Mini
Pirate Treasure (Maybe up to 4).
Leprechaun
Tugboat (if I can get one working)
Badlands (Atari)
Street Football (When I find a better cabinet)

Future games I want to add.

Popeye
DK
Jungle Hunt
Mr Do's Castle
Crystal Castles
Juke Box
Change Machine
Road Riot sitdown
Targ Cocktail
Journey
Bloxeed
Pinball (My grais are Haunted House, Bonazi Run, Simpsons Pinball Party and Sout Park. But will probably grab any pin I can afford).

Not looking to spend a lot of money. When I do get the game room up and going I will have a little get together. Maybe the night before on of the auctions.

Thanks Steven

Wasn't there an 80's Saturday Morning Cartoon about a bunch of humanized turtles called Shell Shock? I'd run with that theme. Buy some animation cells, have someone paint a big Shell Shock mural, etc. I can't believe you need help with this after being on this site for nearly 10 years. Didn't you learn anything in all that time? I foresee this thread being a bust as usual, and as always I will tune out after post number 5. You'll ask for ideas, people will offer them, you'll turn them all down and ultimately do nothing. A wise man once said:

"Before asking for help, make sure you really need it."

I would think spray painting THE CARPET would be a horrible idea. I can't see that ending well.

Holy shit, the character 'ShellShock' was actually a character from the Frogger series on Saturday Supercade. Now it makes even more sense. Anyone know if the series has been released on DVD yet?

Frogger

Frogger (voiced by Bob Sarlatte) is an ace reporter of the swamp who works at the Swamp Gazette. He and his friends Shellshock "Shelly" Turtle (voiced by Marvin Kaplan) and Fanny Frog (voiced by B.J. Ward) go out in search of crazy stories (sometimes about human behavior) to publish in the swamp's newspapers. Frogger also has to deal with his gruff boss Tex Toadwalker (voiced by Ted Field Sr.). As in the game, he often gets flattened or has an encounter with an alligator.

Did I miss something here?

When did Noice move out and get his own place with his wife?

Debt Thread 11.1 We have a 3 bedroom 2 bath 1 car attached garage and a 3 car (Size of a 3 car garage (600 SF)) detached garage.

I think doing a turtle theme would be too much. Kinda like the Steeler fan in GA. Way to much over kill IMHO.

supermarket theme is boss. Just put all of your games in my shopping kart and problem solved. No game room ideas needed. lmfao

one thing if you do go with the turtle theme you could build part of the turtle room into the arcade like adding tubes that goes around the room that the turtles can swim in and maybe mix in an empty cab that you turn into a small turtle tank where the monitor would be you could really trick it out

And for sure go with a Turtle theme. But a Mario type turtle theme, not a real life turtle theme.
