Arcade hoarders?

Yes, you're a hoarder. If you sell me your Red Baron cockpit, you won't be. Glad to offer help where it's needed.

Maybe one day ... but you'll have to drive up here to get it.
You should change your ID to VECTORHOARDER ... haven't we discussed that before? LOL :)

Yeah let's treat new guys like crap fellas, that will help eliminate the reputation of most klovers being douche bags. A guy with a new found passion and interest, lets run him off. What the hell is wrong with some of you guys seriously.

How did this turn into a WTB/WTS/WTT thread? LOL :001_scool:

I was just trying to run my post count up...mission accomplished.

I was the antithesis of hoarding three years ago. I was fortunate enough to buy parts from an OP back then; and I sold a lot of these parts because was too much and they were taking up room.

I still have a lot of parts but I only sell when I need the money for other parts. So I guess now I'm hoarding.

late2 the show, folks ... what i miss? can i get a quick rundown?

sure... I said blah blah and then someone said blah blah and I think called me a crybaby.. then someone else blamed people who are new to the hobby for something and said I cant buy parts anymore I think?

Then there was cat pictures.

ah, yes ... the old-timey KLOV geriatric gatekeepers of the arcade hobby.

no hobby would be complete without at least a couple of elitist divas, now would it?

sure... I said blah blah and then someone said blah blah and I think called me a crybaby.. then someone else blamed people who are new to the hobby for something and said I cant buy parts anymore I think?

Then there was cat pictures.

Sounds about right...

"4. to have one or many backup pcb's for your rare game if it goes down. "

this usually jinx's my machine lol.

To be honest, well i rebuilt my EZ20 in my donkey kong back in 2014.
I havent had to mess with that machine once since then. it still runs
awesome.
I learned you get lower blood pressure if you try not to put your machines
under a microscope when you turn them on everytime and notice something alittle out
of adjustment.

lol, this is so true....

I just learned this with my Galaga game....now I enjoy playing it again. lol :p

I think when youre actively acquiring games you kind of have to hoard.

The best deals always come from mass buys if you can scrounge them up, and when you do you are kind of forced to take everything.

I really don't have the room to hoard.

I tend to buy stuff with preservation in mind. I'd love to own an actual "museum" of games one day, sorta like any other free-play arcade you see out there, only with entire exhibits dedicated to the history/development of games.

Which would come a lot faster if I win the lottery or something. :) Until then I'll drop a little money (emphasis on "little") on occasion on stuff I wanna take care of. I love buying junk and making it less junky, but I buy believing that one day my games will see public play again, so I'm not gonna keep things cooped up forever.

I see lots of people who just buy up any part, machine or whatever and just sit on the items without ever restoring....

I agree with whoever said something about it being all in your perspective. I haven't touched any of my projects in over 4 years now. Friends and family see this and many have called me a hoarder. But a lot of it has to do with my son, who is 4, combined with my job which has long hours at times. Add to that the fact that I over-collected and have no space to work on anything.

But, I totally plan on getting everything working. I am working on getting a workshop built so that I can move all my projects out of the basement, garage, and shed. If I can get everything working before I die, I consider it a success. Maybe you won't be the person to end up with my games or parts, but someone will other than the dumpster. Hopefully my son. :D
