I enjoy collecting arcades, but I love my beagle collection even more.

I dusted off N.A.R.C. last night to show it off to some of the neighborhood kids and thought it was funny that they had packs of dobermans that would swarm you and take you out if you didn't snipe them first and turn them into puppies. It almost surprised me that they didn't have police dogs in the game. Sometimes, I'll tell the neighborhood kids that I've trained my hounds to be drug sniffing dogs, just to see the uncomfortable look on their face as they start sniffing around them. It's pretty funny, but will probably get me beat up one day. The only other game that I've played that also had dogs in it is Bad Dudes and I as wondering what other games out there have dogs in them. Seems like it would have been politically incorrect with the PETA crowd to have games where you can actually shoot/beat/kill dogs after the late 90's/00's, but I bet there are a ton of them during the 80's and early 90's where they were used as villains or attack dogs. Does anyone know of a game where the any of the dogs are actually good guys?

Rush 'n Attack - stage 2 end ... you have to kill a dozen dogs attacking.

Not that many hero dog games. In Ninjawarriors the dogs attack you. I like Shadow Dancer on the Genesis better than the arcade though. That's the best example of a hero dog companion I can think of in a game.

I think there were dogs in the Simpsons game.

And if you want to expand the definition to include werewolves, there are probably dozens of fighter games like Altered Beast and Darkstalkers.

Yes the simpson's pet Santa's Little helper shows up to be used as a projectile
