The other thread about paper model games got me thinking. Can anyone familiar with The Sims® series of games give me a quick primer/lowdown on arcade machines as "furniture" or items?

The Sims® - People made all sorts of video game machines (Asteroids, Defender, etc.) based off of an arcade machine available in one of the add-on packs. These were cool, but they didn't look quite right, and they didn't have the right sounds (to my knowledge). When I was into The Sims, I'd build houses with giant arcades. Fun.

The Sims 2® - I know some people made arcade machines for this version, but I never got to see them.

The Sims 3® - Have no idea.

yeah my mom used too play these it had arcade games and Pinball Machines in them . Funny thing was they where not cheap too buy!

Yeah - they usually cost a lot! Thankfully we had the "klapaucius" cheat code for more $$. :D

Yeah, they have some Arcade games in the Sims 2, but you have to have the College expansion pack to get them as an option.

Then you can go to the ModTheSims website and download some that look closer to originals.

back when I was interested in it, I looked into designing original looking versions for the game, but lost interest before I got that far...

Looks like those are based on the model of the one included in the College expansion pack; same scenario from The Sims 1.

But that might be cool. I've got a laptop that can handle that game now, and I'm pretty sure I have the disks sitting around. Maybe I'll try it out.
