Arcade Game Trade Advice

I loved the fact that I wore a Giants hat to an A's game...and was on TV the whole time.

Joe Mauer is even more handsome in real life, BTW. I love him.

He's a looker, no doubt. Can't wait to see him in the new stadium.

I have a 9 in 1 multi (19 inch, upright, cedar grain) and a working but unrestored Elevator Action for trades. A dude wants to trade me a nice working DK cocktail for one of them. I was looking for a DK cabaret, but I actually first played the cocktail when I was 9, so that style has sentimental value to me. I was gonna restore a DK upright for myself, but that's a lotta work. This way, I'd get a DK, and get rid of another project/space waster. Plus I wouldn't have to restore another DK, freeing up time to finish a few other projects. Good trade? Or am I a fool for trading an upright for a DK cocktail? Do the DK cocktails really suck that bad? Or is it just cool to say that cuz that's the common attittude towards them? Help.

Yes. I think trading a 9-in-1 or an unrestored EA for a fully working DK cocktail is a good trade for you, value-wise. If you value losing a non-dedicated 9-in-1 (suck) or unrestored less desirable game for a better game, then it's an even better trade.

People trash DK cocktails here, but in the "real world" they aren't that bad. I know people who have them and love them, and I know people who are actively looking for them! They aren't nearly as bad as people make them out to be here. Yes, it takes a few minutes to get used to the joystick, but it isn't impossible.

Thanks Wade. You know how to show a guy a good time.

I've had both a DK CT and UR. I dumped the CT and love the UR I have. For me it was the controls and the smaller monitor, but then again being a full figured individual I am not usually partial to CTs. The other issue with the contol panel is that once you start getting better at the game and start having half hour games, that's when you'll know how uncomfortable it is. Of course it is all personal pereference, so I would recommend that you go and play it to see if you can handle the angle of the CP. Plus I think that the HS kits are made for the two board versions, but I'm not 100% sure.

I've got two of 'em, one restored and one not so much. (still trying to find a good 13"/14" tube). I think the issue with the controls is a matter of height. If you sit on a chair or stool at the right height you can rest your arms on your legs and play for hours if you were so inclined to. I've had drunken "Kong offs" with buddies for a few hours at a time with no problems. I think I've even got close to 300K on that sumbitch a few times.

so have you made a decision yet, shawn?

It's not my decision to make. The dude hasn't got back to me yet with HIS decision. And it creeps me out when you use my real name in every post. Reminds me of the feeling I get when that slimy televangelist starts telling that housewife chick to kill her husband on the Tommyknockers. Like you're talking directly to me and no one else can hear you. *shudders*
