No Rich- no photoshop effects are used. It's a photo-mosaic using arcade game flyers for each individual "tile". Completely different from what you're printing. Those reprints look sweet, though. Can't believe I missed that thread. PM sent...

I like them, but almost wonder if the tiles need to be a bit smaller. I like the "pixelatedness" it gives them but the larger tiles really kill the detail of the originals.

Any chance for something Joust related?

I can tweak it in anyway really. The full size Crystal Castles that I have framed looks cool at 1500 tiles, but I definitely make more tiles (2000 or 3000) for more definition in the final print.

Thoughts on that??

I also think the smaller the tiles the better the effect, but would need to see a mock up to compare. Also, can you produce them in 27" x 40" movie poster size?

The smaller the tiles get, the harder they are to make out- that's if you're trying to "read" each individual flyer. Yeah, 27 x 40 shouldn't be a problem.

I'll post a mock up of 2 flyers to compare in a bit...

Here's a comparison- 3000 tiles on the left and 1500 tiles on the right:

Definitely the one on the left- you guys are right! Each flyer tile on the 3000 tile image is less than 1/2 an inch, but still recognizable. Me likey.
