I've been on a Arcade documentary kick lately; and I hope I've not watched them all. Any more that you can suggest?

King of Kong
Chasing Ghosts
Tilt: The Battle to Save Pinball
Special When Lit - Pinball doc.
I Got Next - Street Fighter doc.
Way of the Puck - Air Hockey doc.

The Rock-afire Explosion (not an arcade movie but still cool)

Am I missing any?

Star Worlds: A pocket full of tokens and I'm heading to the arcade.

Funny you should mention that, I was passing through DeKalb a week ago on a game pick-up, and I mentioned to my buddy that there was a cool old school arcade in Dekalb, but I couldn't remember the name. we tried looking it up on the GPS, with no luck, we stopped at a couple of gas stations, Fast food joints, then Jewel and tried looking it up in the phone book, and it wasn't listed. I asked the service desk guy I f he knew of an arcade, and he sent us to some Rail Road type pizza joint that was half closed with no games on Lincoln HWy. I get home and google it, and If we had just turn right on Lincoln Hwy we could have found it. i found it on Google before, and I've seen the DVD listed on eBay, but even in Dekalb, no one knows where it's at. And no phone book listing! I will check it out some day, since I only live an hour away.

Here is an actual documentary on an arcade
that was open 34 years. Shame it's only 7 minutes
but at least it's actually about a real arcade with
history and shot for prosperity, not to be marketed
to production companies. Playland was a great place.

I've seen King of Kong and Chasing Ghosts, but haven't heard of the rest. Will have to check these out later, thanks for the info!

Can you buy "I got next"? I can't find it. I'll be renting that Way of the Puck on Amazon.

Dwayne Richard made a documentary that I actually kind of enjoyed. It's low budget but entertaining:

If you're into pinball, I highly recommend the "This Old Pinball" DVDs. I bought all of them and probably have watched them all two or three times each. They are more about how to fix and restore pinballs and EMs but I find them very fun to watch and you'll learn tons:

I also kind of like the "Life After Death" pinball DVD series:

Once upon Atari is kind of ok http://www.onceuponatari.com/ - it was a little boring.

Not arcade, but interesting BBS the documentary: http://www.bbsdocumentary.com/

I love this hobby, but I don't think it warrants all the documentaries it's had. Overkill.

I've got interest for one fictional non-doc motion picture (namely, the one DiCaprio was working on re: Atari, if it comes to pass) and one mainstream comedy (Wreck-It-Ralph), and that's about it.

That BBS Documentary was wicked good. Although I'm partial as I ran several bulletin boards growing up. Had 4 phone lines tied to my computers at one point. I actually think the guy that made the BBS Documentary is doing an Arcade documentary too. I think I saw a Kickstarter for his project.

We also do some fun DVDs called Pins and Vids. I'll call them more of a video magazine for Pinball and Arcade collectors.

Our latest video was release in April and includes around 20 minutes with Steve Kordek, who is pretty much a legend in pinball. He is the man who put the flippers at the bottom of the playfield in what is now the traditional flipper placement.

Head over to http://www.pinsandvids.com to check it out and a blog did a review of it here: http://gameroomblog.com/features/pins-and-vids-4-a-new-hoax-reviewed

They are cheap, and the 4th DVD is currently on sale for $10 + shipping. Real DVD packaging and everything. Even shrink wrapped!

The first three DVDs are still available directly from the Pinball Hall of Fame. Pins and Vids III is a documentary on the building of Big Bang Bar by Illinois Pinball.

I watched Way of the Puck tonight. I loved it! Never knew it existed. Thanks for sharing!
