End of Auction
The Captain prefers bidder/buyers to collect items won at auction immediately after payment, on the day of the event. Special arrangements can be made if pickup is not possible on auction day.

If you live close there are normally guys at every auction I have ever been to who will do deliveries for cash.

The auctions usually take a loooooong time. Also be prepared to be outbid by online and phone bidders without getting any notification from the staff. Good luck!

Hmm, think it would be better to just participate online if this is the case? No sense in staying there all day only to find out you were outbid. How long in the day does it go if the festivities begin around 11am?

It all depends on how many games are there. I've stayed there until 10pm sometimes, and once we were out there until almost 2am.

Online is fine if you show up there first, check out the games you want, and then leave to do online, although you will still be paying 3% more for anything you win

If you are looking for classic games, stick to Craigslist, and the collector community.

These auctions are nothing like the old Superauctions when there were hundreds of classic games and parts sold off and big rows of pinball machines and parts. It's hard to even comprehend those kinds of auctions nowadays. You will never see them again in So Cal, there just aren't that many machines sitting around anymore which can be disposed of at auction for auction type prices.

These auctions are mostly geared towards games that can still be operated for money...because that is what sells for decent money nowadays. If you look through the stuff they are selling a majority of it is shooting games, driving games, neo geo and other kinds of Jamma games. Yes there are some older games but there is just a token amount.

Their idea of a rare game is Captain Commando...

Plus a lot of the stuff does not go that cheaply, unlike the old days where stuff sold at the auctions for auction prices. The prices at these auctions are quasi-retail.

Kind of fun to go and look though, and BS with other collectors. Sometimes you might find a deal but like I said it is nothing like it was in the glory days.

Yeah I was sort of wondering about this looking through the list of what was offered. Thought maybe the preliminary listing was what they had in their warehouse and then other private auctioneers would bring their machines to be listed after the fact. Most of what's been posted so far look like overly large ticket redemption type machines or generic cabinets with crappy multiboards inside. Thanks for the insight, I may end up just checking it out online for curiosity's sake to save some hassle.

ladies n gentlemen your Wreck it Ralph effect in action...

$1,000 for the jankiest, piece of crap Donkey Kong conversion I've ever seen

$675 for a crappy routed 3 player Off ROad

$450 for a painted black Ms. Pac-Man

oh yeah...and add 23.75% to all these prices

...and the following pins are now worth $1500 in non-working or half-working, unshopped, moisture-damaged condition: The Game Show, Black Pyramid, Monte Carlo, Gladiators

now people are bidding up an "snk capcom ultimate challenge" game in a painted black midway cabinet, supposedly a blue elf multi with 25 capcom games...except in actuality all it has is a neo board with a 90-1 cart in it

Man !!!! I am glad I live on the East Cost......Plenty of games, game auctions and cheap prices......

I live on the east coast too and the auctions have dried up. Used to be on every year in Maryland and at least one in Pennsylvania each year. No more in Maryland and if there is one in PA it's just not worth the drive. Too much bull crap telling you what's going to be there only to find half the stuff never shows.

Closest regular auction to me is 8-10 hour drive. I just can't justify the gas into the price of a coupe of games to make it worth while.
