saw this on the website for a local event:
Join WTAQ in taking a look back at 1981's entertainment scene. Bayfest shares its anniversary with two legendary icons. 1981 marks the launch of MTV and the birth of Pac-Man. In special recognition of these monumental events continuous MTV music videos will be shown inside an arcade featuring retro games from the Pac-Man era.

As a nod to its '80s-loving roots, this weekend's Bayfest at Leicht Memorial Park will go retro with an arcade filled with "Pac-Man'' and other classic video games and MTV music videos playing continuously on a big screen.

so we took a ride up. they had a ms pac, 60-in-1, dig dug and a newer pinball game. what an arcade! not exactly "filled" with classics. there were no 80s videos being shown. people seemed scared to play the games, even though they were set to free play.
i had a pretty good game of time pilot going when a little black kid unplugged the game and ran away. also, no pac man, only ms pac, without the speed up. BORING.
i dont think i realized how outdated those machines are until tonight. they really looked out of place, and it is a sad shadow of what i remember going to carnivals in the mid 80s when they would have a huge tent filled with 50-75 games crammed in and people waiting in line to play popular titles.
