Well I got the power supply fixed and found the monitor making a static noise not sure of the source but am sure its the monitor and the part of the flyback that hooks to the tube lets out a small puff of smoke and i think this is the source of the noise.
I plan on recapping it next week what else should I get to fix this?
Should I even bother with fixing this?
Thanks

Yes you should fix these monitors. Do you know what a brand new one costs? Believe it or not, these things cost $450.

Several years ago, I wrote a copyrighted repair guide to these monitors.

I am still having a very hard time finding a FB I assume this one is going bad due to the anode smoking

Replacement parts are available for these monitors are still available from the particular monitor manufacturer. Arachnid used only two monitor manufacturers for the 9" amber monitors used in these machines, Kristel and Omnivision.

The monitor manufacturers still make these models and stock parts (including flybacks) for them. Granted I've repaired probably over 50 of these monitors over the years and I don't think I've seen a bad flyback on them. I have seen shorted transistors and diodes right next to the flybacks start smoking. Same for bad spark gaps burning.
