I am having an issue with my Arachnid Galaxy Smart Target PCB.

This is setup on my bench with minimal connections so that it will run. I do not have a factory cable for between them, but I have a home-built 6C RJ11 cable that is straight through. I get no light on the LED on the PCB.

Can someone with a Galaxy 1 check to see if the connector cable is straight through (ie look at the wire colors entering each side of the connector)?

Does anyone have the wiring for the connectors?

What other tests can I do to figure out why it isn't working?

ok, so I changed to a Reverse RJ12 cable (Like this: http://www.deepsurplus.com/ds_diagram_rj12_wiring.pdf) and I am now able to see the target light dimmly, and it will give me what it is seeing as a hit when I press on areas of my target interface, but it is not scoring 90% of the time. I only get a flash of the number on the screen in 301, to the left of the total score. Since I see this, I know that the Matrix is plugged in correctly, and it is getting all of the correct values coming over, but it isn't scoring for some reason.

Any one have any ideas?

I still think the cable might be an issue, since on the 19 pin connector, I see ~4.5V on all of them. I would think that it would be that on some, and ground on others.

Bump! Anyone know if the SMART Target Interface Cable is a standard 6 conductor telephone wire or not?

Yes, the reversed cable is what you need. 6 pins RJ12.

Do you have darthead diagnostics mode turned on? The only time I've seen numbers pop up in incorrect areas of the screen is for this, but then again it also usually scores at the same time.

Do you have the hit sensor plugged in? If that is set too sensitive then it will register a hit but not score the dart. All hits should register if that sensor is not connected.

I did not have a missed dart detector installed. It was just board, power supply, 2 buttons, target interface board via RJ12, and bare matrix.

Do you have the foil square behind the smart target attached to JP11? I recall reading in a support document that you may have hit problems without.

Here is a pic of my current smart target board, https://goo.gl/xa0j9Y. Maybe that helps somehow?

I did not have the foil square, but I also did not have any of the backer boards or any of that either. Just the Galaxy PCB mounted on a piece of wood with the power supply, then a harness for the buttons, then the Smart Target PCB sitting on the anti-static mat with the matrix off that. I don't have the wood backer, rubber damper, or target face on it right now.

One thing I do notice is the green wire in your picture. That looks like it is a ground wire. I don't have that since it is out of the case. Where does this attach to?

The green wire runs directly to the silver rivet on the black, foil-backed square.

From the manual, "The static shield, a foil-backed PVC barrier, prevents
static discharge from the darthead from discharging into the
smart target board. "
