The power Supply in My Arachnid Galaxy burnt up the resistors at location r6 and r7. Does anyone know what resistors I need to purchase to replace them with. Thanks for any help.
The power supply is labeled 34743 pwr sply 6300 to galaxy.

If no one else gets to this, I'll take a look in mine tonight when I get home.

Anyone Have any idea where I can find what resistors are needed the originals were completely burned up.

Thanks

Sorry, didn't get down to the basement until this evening.

R7 is a 0.15 ohm 1/2w flameproof resistor.
R6 is a 180 ohm looks like a 1w flameproof.

Test everything else in the circuit, there's likely something shorted that caused those to burn up.

Thanks allot now just need to get the resistors and solder them on! Almost there.

I did notice that the documents online don't show them thats why I had such a time finding out what they were. Heres a picture maybe you can find the documentation for this power supply.

Well, the power supply in my Galaxy (and my spare) is a switching power supply, so unfortunately the resistors in your power supply are going to be different.

If you give Arachnid's tech support a call, they're usually very helpful even with out of warranty equipment.

I was just going to mention that.

The pictures you posted are definitely the Galaxy LINEAR power supply. Maybe Arachnid has newer schematics than what is posted.

The Galaxy production run started out with a modified 6300 series linear power supply. This had only +5 volt and +12 volt dc outputs. The 6000 through 6300 series (Super Six) also had a +21 volt output to run the amplifier circuitry.

Midway through the production run, Arachnid changed the Galaxy series to use a switching regulator power supply. Two different game manuals were issued. One for machines with the linear power supply and one for machines with the switching power supply. I think I have a manual stored off-site at a friend's house.

I havent called them yet if you manage to get the information could you send me the resistor information? Thanks

You are in luck today! I was at my friend's house where roughly half of my manuals collection is stored (no more room in my apartment) and found my Arachnid manuals. Inside were some of the Galaxy stuff and I found the schematic to your power supply. Resistors R6 and R7 are both .1 ohm @ 5 watts

They are used to limit current to the bridge rectifier so possibly your machine has/had a shorted bridge rectifier.

I have now scanned the schematic and I think tomorrow I will scan both of the full Galaxy manuals I have. I even found the schematic Arachnid drew for the switching supply. Arachnid's support archives only have the Galaxy manual showing the switching power supply.

Still waiting on my new resistors from Mouser - There wasn't any local place to buy them.

Ill keep you posted Thanks
