AR II Rebuild kits

Arcadeshop won't have the best price for 30 kits..

Your best bet is to buy the parts in bulk.. Hell, I might have enough for half that if your interested.

Bulk buy is in order for sure. Kits are convenient if you are doing a couple as it will take some shopping time to acquire all you need at great prices. The kits save your valuable time but are more expensive because someone else had to find the parts, make up the kits, and sit on the inventory until they get purchased.

Bulk means 500?

Bulk means 500? I am looking at 30. Does that put me in expensive kit land or can I make the minimum orders?

AFAIK kits include some Q parts, Molex connectors are additional. A full rebuild kits runs $25 plus shipping per board.

KLOV'rs like to pay $30 per board. That is why we are a Preservation Society and not a business.

Mouser, here I come?

Re-capping (11 caps going from memory) the ars for sure then replacing any parts that are bad. The power transistors, the TDA audio amps, and that sense resistor that gets charred from poorly connected boards (I replace it with a 1/2 watt instead) are the most common probs I run into. Also a lot of the nylon screws are broken or missing; you'll need to source those. Usually the Molex connectors are ok as they do not see many insertions/removals but may need to be re-flowed. I think you can beat that $25 kit price, even through Mouser, as you won't need to replace all of the parts on every one of them. And you should expect to pay more for a totally re-capped, cleaned, tested and restored AR than $30 as it is a time saver. $30 would be for a tested and working one with no restoration but then you have to worry about dried out caps and issues later.
