Right, I knew that, but I respect your opinions more than anyone else. It's not even close to the "hellcade" or "MultiMame" kinda crap, so I wanted to ask. Thanks for the kind words.

Who's this "we" white man? LOL!

I like it!

Matt

right now in this econ, any of this stuff aint worth nearly as much as it used to be...

back int he day that mighta been a $1000-$1500 machine, nowadays, not so much...

I always though people used the "economy" as a bargianing chip but lately i havent been able to sell a damn thing...

I would guess between850 and a 1000 but that's just my opinion.
When I build one I would like it to look exactly like that it is cool.

That looks nice. If you want to see something horrible, check out this Hellcade candidate:

I like how the description mentions the "feel" of the old systems. Yeah, like you can create the feel of playing NES and Genesis by standing in front of a wood panel cab that makes you want to vomit. That's not how I remember playing NES and Genesis. If I'm going to play a console system with console controllers I'll play them in front of my TV with my butt on a couch.

Since you're speaking for everyone, we think Cadillacs suck too. ;)

Zeno: Thats a nice machine, but I think you'll find that the price you'll get for it is very dependent on your location and luck. I'd say $600, which I know sounds kind of low with a new monitor, but thats kind of the reality of the market right now.

You could always luck out and find someone really wanting a machine that has no time/inclination to build one and get way more than that. Good luck.

In a good economy I would say $1000-$1,250. In the current economic situation you'll be lucky to get $600 unless you slap some pictures of classic chracters on the sides and marquee.

You have a very clean looking MAME machine there. Very tastefully done.

Thank you. I knew that it would probably not fetch as much as I wanted/have in it, but I am going to try and if I can't sell it for what I want to, I'll probably end up taking what I can get. It's just a lot of new stuff/time and effort that went into it and I'd hate to just 'give' it away.

Is the cabinet in nice shape - yes
Does the monitor work - I'll assume so and I'm sure the picture is nice also
Does the economy suck? Yes

I think the $600 is a TOP end figure - probably worth less in todays market.
I would personally yank the PC out of that cabinet and convert it to a multi machine. $1000 or more would be reachable at that point. I'm not a MAME hater ;)
If you want money - then go the multi route. Either way it's a nice looking cab and I wish you luck on your sale.

You know the multi-boards are just hacked versions of MAME, right?
They're actually worse because they are an older version and some of the games have screwed up colors and sound. IMO, he'd be hurting the value of this by limiting it to a hundred or less games instead of a couple thousand that MAME on a computer can reasonably play vs MAME on a JAMMA board.

Anyone who builds a Mame machine should realize they will get no where near what it cost them. I say around $500, and that is a tough sell; you may sit on it for a while...
