APB Restoration

Artwork Gooooooooodness!!!!

I've been waiting for this for a bit... I received my artwork the other day and had a heck of a time getting it to fit... bottom line... its a tight fit and it is challenging. For one, its irregular and secondly it has very little room for error as it follows the cab profile fairly close...

But I'm giddy... this looks so damned good!!!

...pinball machines make great tables ...except stuff slides off them ;)

... its necessary to trim the excess ... and trim it close as I mentioned, its a tight fit.

... align it, you will need to put the cop light right up against the edge of the cab to get the back side to fit without hanging over... there is little margin

Awesome! I really should invest in the side art for my restoration now. Knowing my luck, they'll be out by the time I get around to it. Looks great!

Can't believe I didn't have this thread on my watch list!! Jim did the seller give you the option to choose colors? I would like this in grey for my Outrun cab.

That particular style mat only comes in black through Amazon and if you check rubbercal.com (the manufacturer) they also only have it in black so I think you may be out of luck with that particular brand.

I have all my stuff back to put this bugger back together... but I lost the bag of parts for the stinking accelerator pedal!!!!!! I got so much crap all over the place (this is what I get for trying to do 3 restorations at once!!!!).

Nice work on that APB, and by the way, the stupid smileys cost you one of your 5 allotted pics. Another reason not to use them.

Will do!! What did PPC charge you to do all those parts? I may go see them tommorow to do some of my stuff.

$150 for all my stuff, they have a $25 minimum.. I ended up with 3 different powders...

Don't go with the crinkle finish that I did... it is a very tricky powder and sometimes it doesn't bond/grab evenly especially on the coin doors... I got lucky on the stuff I had redone... one piece, my galaga coin door came out bad and there was no way to fix it.

Go with satin or gloss ... they always come out great!

Thanks! Maybe I'll wrap this up tonight!

No shit on the smileys right... I didn't even catch the info on those contributing to the "image count" until a while later... and yep... no longer do I use them.

DONE!!!! Final Shots

Pedal work... I took some shots of the application of the anti-skid tape but cant find them... anyway... cut it stuck it... nothing to it. You can get it at Home Depot or Lowes.

Old grubby potentiometer and a new one ready to go...

Pedal parts ready to be assembled, I already put the axle in and the C clips on the ends. All we need now is the new pot, rocker arm and spring...

Soldered the cabinet pigtail on to the potentiometer and used a bit of heat shrink tubing to make it nice.
