APB Restoration - Done!

Howdy all... I'm (re)starting my APB restoration.

I started this back in October... then life got the best of me... I'm back to working on it... I have all of the artwork available from TOG, I have a new seat assembly from DPtwiz and am working full speed ahead on this...

Here is the power block... as you can see it is completely missing its +5 switcher... and could use a good scrubbing!

I'm in the middle of filling up the t-molding slot... as it needs to be recut due to differences between the original Atari chrome t-molding and the stuff I got from t-molding.com.

Its taking me forever and all I want to do is paint the thing!!!!

You don't have a router? That'll get it done in 10 minutes

Oh... yes I do, the problem is the slot is too wide... therefore I need to fill in the slot with bondo... and then recut the slot with a slot cutter.

No way to live without a router... I hardly cut anything any other way... beyond slot cutting and edging... I cut all my panels with my router.

Looks good, I'm on the fence as to whether I am going to keep mine or sell it. Good to know about the T-Molding, that is very shitty.

Hi, I have a nice original control panel for apb that is in excellent shape..
on my website now under the flyback / parts tab.

Ahhhh what the hell... I got it! It is in much better shape than mine... and if I'm going to go through all this work to make this thing as best as it can be... its worth it...

One day Rich may come out with a silk screened CPO but in the mean time this is probably the best I could find.

Thanks... ships today.
Honestly, if it's original and in good shape I would take good shape original over a mint repro. :)
Wise choice you will like...

Hey man... you were one who was heavy into the seat repro thread... giving up on the APB are ya?
... and yes the tmolding thing is pretty shitty!

That was me, I have pretty much sold off my whole collection so it isn't just APB. I still plan on building some seats when I have time, just haven't had much of that in the last few months.

Opinions needed

I'm getting ready to paint... I've been mulling this over for a bit...

When I painted my Defender, I used gloss... even though its not "authentic", it looks terrific with the freshly stenciled artwork... its so shinny it looks like a piano...

I'm thinking I may want to go this route with the APB since it is a "police car"... wouldn't it look really cool if it was glossy black, especially with the chrome t-molding?

What do you think?
