Not too long ago I moved my arcade cabinets and pins around and something went goofy with my APB. When I turn it on, it powers up fine and everything, but when I go to play it, the screen gets funky. Well, it's not the monitor, it's the game. Basically the backgrounds scramble and you can't play. The car is fine, and it controls normally, but with the background environment shifting and scrambling constantly it's unplayable.

To me it seems like a chip might have shaken loose, but upon inspection they all seem to be firmly seated. Any ideas?

Have you checked the +5VDC voltage?

Honestly I haven't had a chance to sit down and play with it too much yet, just wondering if anybody had a solid idea of what might be wrong at this point. Hopefully this weekend I can drag out my tools and get working on it.

It passes all tests just fine, but the backgrounds are still a jumbled mess during play. I'll have to post some video, I think.

That sounds very similar to what happened with mine - I had doubts about the +5 vdc knob on the power supply since the game had worked fine for several months without touching it...but then I tweeked it here and there and I haven't had it happen since.
