APB monitor repair guy needed in the Milwakee/Chi area.

Maybe I am blind, but I don't really see convergence issues, I see an image out of focus. Which yeah, yeah, convergence plays a role in, but stupid Q I know...Have you properly adjusted focus after you did the capping and fly? Also the image not filling the screen is due to the width coil needing adjustment and if that doesn't do it, then you need to check for proper B+ voltage and either adjust, or if it's off the charts, then you need a new V REG chip. If voltages are off it could be causing slight convergence issues also... Maybe post a pic of the test grid, because it would better show distortion.

Yeah, that convergence looks off everywhere. When it is just off on the sides and overall pretty good, I would say it isn't worth the risk of making it worse to fix it. But, with where you are at, you have a lot of run for improvement.

Was this a tube swap?

Also, the colors "popping" after warming up is a chassis issue, not a tube issue.

Not a tube swap, bought the game like this except it had crap color. I have had 2 people work on the monitor, both times it came back with better color but nobody touched the rings, yolk or anything to adjust/center the pic.

Chassis has been capped, new flyback, and 'fixed', but I only see better color.

At this point I am $300 into repairs, 2 weeks of having the machine down, 5hrs of roundtrips driving.., so gonna deal with it a while I guess. Ha.. Just want it looking normal'ish, I tried.

I can try to take another pic, but the focus is the best it can be from the adjustment knob. I spent an hour adjusting everything slightly until it looked the best. Shoulda seen it when I got it back from repair, blobs of color in the upper right and center'ish.. A 10sec purity adjustment fixed that part at least.

I had the monitor looked at (hobbyists) and was told those things (caps/voltages/flyback/ etc) were gone over.

See my post above, but also check and make sure nobody lifted D10 (pretty sure that is correct, but don't have time to double check) to bypass the HV shutdown. I really think you need to check the B+ on this one...

Here are a few more. Still hard to see exactly from a pic..

those colors look terrible, even being out of convergence.

use my video to help set the black level and color and white balance your monitor.

start at the 18:00 mark for the tutorial.
