I picked up a couple of 60-in-1 boards from Paradise Arcade recently, one as part of a bartop cab I'm putting together as a gift and another as a backup/spare in case I wind up with an extra cab or one of mine goes down. I tossed one into my DK Multi cab (the only vertical JAMMA cab I have) and it booted fine but didn't respond to any inputs. Flipped the test DIP and it came up in test mode, but again did not respond to any input. Same thing with the other board.

I checked the PCB pinouts in both manuals, and everything looks like it should be fine. Did I end up with two defective boards, or am I missing something?

Try it in your klax or neo geo. Perhaps the wiring is somehow wonky in your DK multi cabinet in a way that works for it but not for this board.

I set all the options up in mine in a neo geo single slot conversion cabinet.

I had an opposite experience, I dropped a tetris board in my 60-in-1 to test it as good and couldn't get the controls to work without jumpering at the JAMMA connector but the 60-n-1 worked fine.

Did you check the ground wire for the controls?

Same issue in Klax, however, it doesn't have P1/P2 start buttons (which test mode wants), and I'm not sure if I should be able to select a game before coining it up. I'll have to look at the wiring to see if it's compatible with my 2-slot Neo; I know that is somewhat different than the 1-slot pinout.
