I was thinking on making a multicade type deal out of a cabaret I might buy, the guy says it has a monitor out of a red tent and that should be vertical right? I was wondering if there is any smaller things other than 60 in 1, I just basicaly want pacman, ms pacman, galaga, galaxian and a couple others, like a 8 in 1 deal and to be jamma

There used to be a 19 in 1. That was more or less a 60 in 1 with less games. The games on the 60 in 1 can be turned off IIRC to make it appear like it only has a few games.

The arcadeshop PCB is programable, and you could only put on the games you want, but the 60-in-1 is much cheaper and you can disable the games you don't want.

And the Red Tent monitor was an 18" Sanyo or Sharp, btw...

The 19-1 has horizontal games, 60-1 has vertical games. As mentioned, you can disable as many games as you want with either one.

You should make sure the cabinet can take a vertical monitor. A game like caberet klaxx has a horixontal monitor that cant be rotated.

Sometimes even if there is room to rotate the monitor, you might have issues with the frame/neck hitting the back door.

yes, just buy the 60 in 1 and disable the games you don't want.

Red tent monitor is horizontal though, correct????

The 60-1 is the standard board now. Im sure you can still find 19-1 for pretty cheap but the cost difference in that and a 60-1 wont be that much.
If you want to build a really small multigame I have some LCD screens that work great with the 60-1 and any other multi-pcb with vga out. If I remember right they are 13" screens. I have a whole pile of these I need to get rid of, they are tested and working.

I was also thinking that the older 3 or 4 - in - 1's should be pretty cheap and easy to come by now. I remember them being a big deal 6 or 7 years ago but now you probably can't throw a rock without hitting one.

I would imagine that just like any other monitor, it can be used vertically or horizontally. Your talking about putting the monitor in another cab, right?

its already in a cabaret, the guy i might buy it form took out a red tent and put it in a standard cabaret cab

Does he at least know if the monitor is mounted horizontally or vertically? Sounds like alot of unanswered questions from the seller, I'd go look at it before commiting to a purchase.

Maybe actual viewable is 17", but they labeled their monitors differently. the Model # is either a Sharp XM-1801N or a Sanyo 18ZAB.

And yes, it can display either vertical or horizontal. i have an 18ZAB in my Popeye cocktail, and had an XM-1801N in a DKjr cocktail....
