Anyone used this Translucent T-Moulding??

A tron with blue glowing t-molding come to mind.
A ms pacman with glowing edges.
The el wire is .09 and the slot cutter is .078. It might be a snug fit. Putting pressure on soft presswood walls might be an issue. You will have to make it replacable because El wire does dim with age.

Unless I missed it Whats the length of that wire on ebay?? I would guess you would need two sets, one for each side?

Ouch burn! :D So it looks like the thread died, did you end up trying it? I am ordering from T-molding.com today and I am going to get a sample of the translucent. Sorry about stopping on your idea.

No worries, I just saw your thread, thought it was mine, then noticed you as the the OP, and wondered, WTF? My thread wasn't all that old.

It occured to me when I was shopping for t-molding for my Virtual Boy cabinet. I think I will go with solid for now since my projects are stacking up and I want to get to my Galaxian full restore and get my Baby Pac working. I want the Galaxian to be something you can say was a good job. You are a measure for me. :D

How would one go about using the cabinets existing power supply to run the strip. I am sure it's possible. Just not sure how you would wire it up.

Well el wire runs on 120v ac so it is really easy. Some kits include a inverter so you can use 12v dc in a car, but it is unnecessary in this case.

I see. I have'nt been exposed, but it looks pretty cool. I think an EL Marquee would be cool. Of course there is that risk of going overboard, but Glowing stuff is neat.

Hah. Funny you should bring this up (saw the other thread, it died).

I have a Tron torn down - next week start building it back up. Have two tmoldings for it - the trans type as you mention and the DOT blue - will try both.

Wont the Trans type glow under blacklight? I've been wanting to try it but the rooms a mess.
I would like to route EL wire under it, but the trouble i have is modding the cab to make it fit - i dont want to cut into it, and dont want to order it to experiment.

So, i got the DOT blue type as the backup if the trans type is ugly.

Should have my experience posted by next week when i get to it.
