anyone use the arcadeshop williams steel control panel?

I am sure I have seen it discussed but couldn't find the thread.

arcardeshop.com has a williams multigame metal control panel for like $75, which the price doesn't bother me too much because it saves quite a bit of work.

Now that I think about it, didn't dj dns crack this a bit. Can't quite remember.

It's a fine control panel. The only issue I remember being with it was that it only fit the AS CPO which has Moon Patrol art on it and most MW games don't have Moon Patrol. I used Phoenix Arcades panel when I made mine. VERY nice panel that had some issues with the button holes being a bit small for some leaf buttons. -M

I used one with a converted joust cab, it worked pretty nicely, everything fitted, and the end result was good.

that's what I am intending to do as well. Maybe I can get a picture up of the cpo I got from the dj, to see if you guys think it will match up.
thanks

I used it in my Robotron cab, and yes it had already been painted black as well as Mame'd. Now it is a very nice multi Williams, with JROK's board in it.

Just need to find two nice Wico leaf joysticks to put in it. The Cherry ones suck for games like Robotron.

sweet . I think I would rather spend $75 on that, than the hours of work to rebuild the swiss cheesed (street fightered) joust cp I currently have.

I seem to remember the latest batch of AS panels having either "raised" spots or "sunk" spots where the spot-welding or something was done for the joystick mounting posts?

YeWas there ever any solution to that issue?

Yes - it's called bondo :p
If you look at their site the ones shown in the pictures actually show the dimples on top. It's such a minor thing to prep - but it sucks paying that much and having to do prep work on it right?

Well, bondo works fine if they are depressed, but if they stick up too high then bondo won't be a lot of help. All in all, it is garbage that you have to do anything with it.

ok, I have changed my mind.

I will be attempting to pull out the piece of wood that goes on top of hte control panel and then replace it with a new piece.
