Plus it would segregate the already small amount of people that want to do this multiplayer. Cool to examine, but unless it adds functionality... Sounds like the WaveNet would be a bigger issue than simply setting up a VPN - if nothing else, we have none of their server software, so we don't know what the games are sending nor expecting in return.![]()

In *theory* the WaveNet server shouldn't be too hard to reverse engineer, as it is highly unlikely that in the 90s any of this was encrypted traffic. It becomes a matter of a lot of guess and test for what the game expects back as an answer for its various "questions". The question comes to mind if there were any hardware differences for WaveNet.

Standard image for the Pi with openVPN, passes all network traffic from the Rush to everyone elses Pi's/Rushes on the VPN (up to 8 per VPN segment).
So, buy a Pi per Rush machine (or if you want to put your multiple Rush's to a hub, then that to 1 Pi).
So does it matter what version of Raspberry Pi? I was going to pick up one of these and give this a try.

I am in Kansas, so not to far away from ArcadeImpossible, geographically.
I assume we are loading a OpenVPN image into the Raspberry Pi and then set it up to connect to your VPN?
Possibly, but much more limited time I have free now compared to when I first stated that 7 years ago lol. It would probably be best to host your own VPN on a cloud service with a domain name, and have users connect to that. I think this actually requires more work on the end-user, since they need to connect to the vpn properly and forward all traffic from their machine to the VPN. It would require coordination as only 4 machines could connect to a VPN at a time, and coordinating the #1-#4 settings.@DogP and @linkinpark9812 Are y'all still interested in getting this up and running? There's been chatter in the Hydro Thunder Discord about interest in getting online games setup. If a VPN is already up and running, I think folks could easily pick up something like a gl-inet Mango to connect their cabs to an openvpn or wireguard VPN.
