Anyone tried the flat Nintendo molding from mikesarcade??

Ive bought from both places. Chomping Quarters looks better, and is worth the extra price in my opinion.

What are you on dope?:D

I like the look of the rounded edge, I'm not that nit picky to have to have the "exact" t-molding....kinda like worrying about having the "exact" casters on it...not really a big deal imo....:D

I actually prefer the look of the flat T-Molding.
To me it looks more like an older arcade and the other moldings make it look like a modern arcade.

As far as "why isn't it as shinny as the original?" and "why isn't it as rigid as the original?". Because this is flexible PVC. The original stuff is well was determined to be "rigid PVC" by the manufacture which it's possible to be "semi gloss" or "satin". The original is very shinny and brittle from age so we have no way to know what Nintendo did to accomplish this.

The problem with rigid PVC is well... It's very rigid... So can I ask you? How are we going to install it? I mean, maybe Nintendo heated it up... maybe they had the molding manufacture make it to the shape of the cabinet (I doubt this)... The next problem is, how the hell do you store and ship 10' pieces of molding. Yes, it can be done... But, not by me... And suddenly a box that costs less than $10 to ship is more like $30-$40+ to ship (not the weight, it's the oversized package).

All this was factored in when I decided to move forward with the project. The original plan was to do a small run to help out the OCD collectors get more original reproduction T-molding for their Nintendo cabinets which we accomplished.

So what am I to do being in need of the "offset" T-Moulding?
Any suggestions would be helpful

Wait in line with the rest of us,possibly for eternity lol There is no other option.

Well... You could fill the offset slot with bondo, glue, or wood filler, then re-route a centered groove...?

Not original, but a solution nonetheless.

That could work. Hmmmmmm. I just thought of something......I should try to dye a small piece of the Chomping quarters molding black just to see what happens. I bet no one has tried it yet. Weekend project !!!!!!!!

Use Fusion spraypaint instead of dye. Fusion sticks to plastic/rubber like nobody's business. ;)

I think if I ever have to fill an offset molding slot I am going to glue a strip of hard wood in the groove and then rout it out.
