anyone tried PB Blaster (or similar) on a stuck HWC?

i know stuck horizontal width coils are pretty common... i was just wondering if anyone had tried a penetrating lubricant like PB Blaster on one and if it worked? or would it be harmful or detrimental to the coil or otherwise cause problems since the coil is part of an electrical circuit?

Personally no way in hell I'd do it. I really don't think it would work, either.

The way the coil is made, is it's a bunch of turns of wire, and then inside that, a plastic piece, and then inside that, a ferritte slug. The reason they get stuck is because they get hot, and the plastic melts slightly, sticking to the ferritte. PB Blaster wouldn't do anything with that.

If youv'e got one stuck, try turning the monitor on for 30 minutes so it can all heat up, and then try turning it.
