Anyone think Google Pac-Man will get more people interested in the hobby?

playing pac games with a keyboard is retarded but that is a pretty legit pac hack. my minor complaint is that its too easy, got to 40k without dying and was so bored i just shut it off.

I think it's funny how so many people think I'm weird that I'm still into classic arcade games and then it's Pac-Man fever all over again with this Google logo.

I think everyone in the world has heard of pacman by now.
No, don't think they'll want to buy one.

I disagree.
I think that a few people out there will see this and maybe want to search for more games, etc. and realize that you can actually purchase one for not THAT much money.
That's how I got into it when I stumbled on a game locally on E-bay years ago. I mean, we all had no games at some point and then the madness began with one moment, right?

saw it yesterday and got a serious twinge of nostalgia, but for some strange reason about 18 months ago i saw an old cab in disrepair and just had to have it. the obsession hasnt stopped since!

what i am suggesting is it may only take a fond memory to resurface, and some spare cash, and off you go! as this song lyric suggests:
One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
Two can be as bad as one, its the loneliest number since the number one
No is the saddest experience you'll ever know (cause you have to have it)
Yes is the saddest experience you'll ever know (and must have more)
cause one is the loneliest number that you'll ever know
one is the loneliest number even worst then two..........

True story:

My neighbor Gigi called me last night... (she's a 73 year old lady across the street).

"Jon, I think i have a virus. I went on Google and there is some strange star field or something on the screen... and then it starts making noise. I immediately turned off the computer and decided I better call you."

"Star field? I better come over."

It was the Google Pac Man logo.

Here's the scenario and why NO is the answer:

1) Cool! I can play PacMan on the Google page. I remember that game.
2) Wonder if I could get my own arcade game....
3) (search ebay) $1500
4) Ugh.
5) Search KLOV
6) Found one for $300! Just needs some work...
7) Seller asks: can you solder? Paint? Find other parts? Cap a monitor?
8) Where's my Xbox...
