Here is an odd ball I picked out of someone's garage for cheap. It was in a Congorilla cabinet, but when I turned it on, this appeared. Donkey King Junior? It is fun to play but the board is similar to a Crazy Kong but not pinned or setup the same. The sound has some issues here and there and I need to recap it but cannot make out what the cap values are in the audio circuit. Thought I could get an idea from my Crazy Kong board but that is not anything like this one. I do not know if Orca made this one or not, but if anyone has a Congorilla board they would like to sell me that works, then I would love to get this cabinet back to original condition. PM me if you have one. I do not know about anyone here, but I have never ever seen this board in my whole life, nor can I find any information on it. If anyone has a schematic for this board, PM me also. I would love to preserve it as I believe this is one of the rarest finds I have ever come across. I may even go as far as designing some custom artwork and marquee to suit this board if I get a wild hair.

But Mylstar, I understand that, but, what kind of cabinet would you find such a thing? How did these really come about? I have a Crazy Kong machine, but in a Congorilla machine Crazy Kong was actually run inside? If so, I will put a Krazy Kong board inside, but from what I understand, the pinout is different. I do not see evidence that this machine had the edge connector changed to accomodate this board. I found it unusual to see this board inside such a cabinet. This plays just like Donkey Kong Junior except the levels are switched around and some of the sounds are different.

From what I understand, this was licensed by Nintendo. It says so on the back of the cabinet this was put in. Or does that mean anything? From my research I think this was actually called Junior King. That is all I can find on this. Looks like someone has dumped the ROMS to MAME already, but when I downloaded the ROM it does not show up in MAME. This is weird as I have never had that happen before.

Any more information on this would be helpful. Are these type things desirable to collectors? I thought it was pretty neat and I guess rare. I have never seen one.

Thank for the input.
